July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) Jayson Nix = a half-way decent player when given playing time Fixed
July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) Blackburn is out of the rotation. Duensing is starting Friday in Baltimore. Duensing's a decent pitcher, should bode well for the Twins. Shelly Duncan's error opens up the flood gates. 2-0 Twins, bases loaded, two down. Edit: 4-0 now. Edited July 21, 201015 yr by chw42
July 21, 201015 yr So Jayson Nix comes up with the bases loaded, one out right after Liriano walked a batter, and Nix swings at the first pitch (which is rare for him), and grounds into a DP.
July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) Twins win. Thome had 4 plate appearances and no official ABs. Mark Kotsay could never do that.
July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) Twins win. Thome had 4 plate appearances and no official ABs. Thank goodness we're such a good team at the DH spot. It's not like letting him go up there instead of keeping him was a poor decision.
July 21, 201015 yr Delmon Young still cant take a walk, but he is batting .314 and has 67 RBI on the year. Batting something like .400 in 'clutch' situations
July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) Delmon Young still cant take a walk, but he is batting .314 and has 67 RBI on the year. Batting something like .400 in 'clutch' situations I noticed his stance is totally different then last year. Still would never throw him a first pitch strike.
July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) I noticed his stance is totally different then last year. Still would never throw him a first pitch strike. Hands are lower and he's in a more ready position from the start.
July 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) Delmon Young still cant take a walk, but he is batting .314 and has 67 RBI on the year. Batting something like .400 in 'clutch' situations He's hitting .344/.397/.469 in those situations. That entire Twins team hits well with RISP and late in games.
July 22, 201015 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Damn it, the Twins play the Orioles? Come on... So? Sox play the Orioles 7 games next month. We'll get our shot. Tigers tied it up. 2-2, top of 6th. Edited July 22, 201015 yr by flavum
July 22, 201015 yr Author QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Damn it, the Twins play the Orioles? Come on... Atleast they're in Baltimore...?
July 22, 201015 yr Brennan Boesch is starting to regress. His BABIP has dipped almost 40 points since the last time I checked on him. Average is down 25 points during that timespan. There's the reason why I think the Tigers will have a lot of issues from here on out.
July 22, 201015 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Damn it, the Twins play the Orioles? Come on... Before the All-Star break the Orioles got swept in Detroit, then proceeded to head to Texas and win 4 straight vs. the Rangers. Maybe they can win a game or two vs. the Twinkies???? then again, maybe not.
July 22, 201015 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Before the All-Star break the Orioles got swept in Detroit, then proceeded to head to Texas and win 4 straight vs. the Rangers. Maybe they can win a game or two vs. the Twinkies???? then again, maybe not. I just hope they don't get swept.
July 22, 201015 yr Tigers and Blue Jays 2-2, bottom 8th. Verlander threw 120 pitches, so I think he's done.
July 22, 201015 yr Anybody know why this Tigers game started at noon? I don't ever remember the first game of a 4 games series starting at noon (not including Wrigley).
