February 5, 201016 yr Gotta love a drunk Freddy at Soxfest. Can he have a late nomination for the "Drinking Buddy" vote? Edited February 5, 201016 yr by Steve9347
February 7, 201016 yr I am sure this has made the rounds to the White Sox front office, and I gotta imagine they are livid. Not the fact that he is drunk but the fact that he is drunk at Soxfest where he is supposed to be representing the Sox in a positive image.
February 7, 201016 yr Author I just realized this was moved from Soxtalk. That seems odd, given it happened at Soxtalk involving a member of the White Sox.
February 7, 201016 yr And Soxfest? lol I'm moving it back to PHT, I don't know why it's in this forum actually. Edited February 7, 201016 yr by lostfan

Maybe, but a lot of the players come down and drink with the fans. I think it's great.
February 8, 201016 yr Well thats representing the team in a positive way. Although funny, its probably not very good from a PR standpoint
February 8, 201016 yr This was already posted in the SoxFest thread, as I recall. Or is this like the 2006 Opening Day jumbotron video, where its priceless for ever and ever?
February 8, 201016 yr There have been rumors since his Seattle days that Freddy has problems knowing when to say when. I hear his sweat is .08.

February 8, 201016 yr Author QUOTE (everafan @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) He also tested positive for pot at the WBC right? Garcia experienced a bit of controversy at the beginning of the 2006 season when he tested positive for marijuana during the World Baseball Classic.[3]

February 8, 201016 yr It makes sense with how quickly his career fell apart. Guys who don't take care of themselves don't usually make it as long.
February 8, 201016 yr Who cares, its the offseason and he's enjoying it. He did a good job last season and he's not a major star where this would be a PR problem.

He had a huge shoulder problem, it's not like he got overweight and his numbers suffered immensely. Until his year in Philly, he was a decent pitcher.
February 8, 201016 yr QUOTE (b-Rye @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) Who cares, its the offseason and he's enjoying it. He did a good job last season and he's not a major star where this would be a PR problem. This guy was a fan favorite at Soxfest, hung out to talk with most fans, took the time to sign autographs outside the 'scheduled time'. I have no problem with him hanging out with Sox fans and being a little sauced up- it is the OFFseason. The dude is in great shape and appears ready to go.
February 9, 201016 yr gotta wonder if he was one of the guys who hung out with cabrera on the last weekend in detroit.

February 9, 201016 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) gotta wonder if he was one of the guys who hung out with cabrera on the last weekend in detroit. I'm fairly certain that he was stated as one of them.
February 9, 201016 yr QUOTE (Knackattack @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) I'm fairly certain that he was stated as one of them. It was Garcia and T-Pain (Pena), wasn't it? Edited February 9, 201016 yr by Thunderbolt
February 11, 201016 yr Who cares if the guy gets tipsy every once in a while in the off season.... Detroits star player with $160mm salary get hammered before must win games...Freddie brings it in big games and was a big part of us getting to the promise land in 2005, I don't mind him as the 5th starter right now at all.
