February 14, 201016 yr QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) ah ok. I thought they had merged their Olympic groups a while back, or maybe it was just a one time thing. They have been unmerged the last two times.
February 15, 201016 yr Canada finally wins their 1st gold medal on home soil in the mens moguls. We won a silver medal in the event.
February 15, 201016 yr The Super Cauldron Idea: So, I go an idea during the opening ceremonies. They say every country has it's own unique cauldron and it must be seen "from a distance". So, why no use the entire STADIUM as the cauldron? Have a "ring of fire" along the stadiums roof? You could totally hide the "cauldron" during construction by saying the pipework is for pyrotechnics during the opening and closing ceremonies.
February 15, 201016 yr QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Canada finally wins their 1st gold medal on home soil in the mens moguls. We won a silver medal in the event. I didn't understand why winning a gold medal was such a big deal for the Canadiens. Then I finally read that they hosted a Summer & Winter Olympics and didn't win a gold in either of those two games. That's pretty bad. Only other times that happened was back in the 1920s in France & Switzerland.

I don't trust that idea based on Canada's cauldron construction skills.
February 15, 201016 yr QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I don't trust that idea based on Canada's cauldron construction skills. Maybe the next time China hosts the olympics, we'll see something like that.
February 15, 201016 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) They have been unmerged the last two times. I thought they marched together in 2008? Spoiler: Bode with the bronze Edited February 15, 201016 yr by CanOfCorn
February 15, 201016 yr QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) I don't trust that idea based on Canada's cauldron construction skills. Oh I wasnt saying for this Olympics. just one down the road.

February 15, 201016 yr QUOTE (NIUSox @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) For those of you interested in catching the games in which Hawks players are in I give you the Chicago Blackhawks Olympic Schedule Thanks for that. I didn't realize that we would start play that quickly.
February 16, 201016 yr Author QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) So, how many venues are left that haven't experienced operational problems? Canada is teh suck. Yet, I like it.
February 16, 201016 yr Damn, someone forgot to tell the Swiss that there isn't physical hockey in the Olympics...
February 16, 201016 yr I will say this, NBC has built an incredible online portal for the Olympics that I'm not sure other networks could duplicate quickly. Their online live event streaming is amazing. They need to figure out a way to use this technology for prime time TV.
February 16, 201016 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) 2-0 Backes with a nice move to beat Hiller. He blew past everyone
February 16, 201016 yr I hope they improve with some practice because the USA team I saw today doesnt have a good shot at medaling
February 17, 201016 yr Well the Swiss has been a decent team the past few years so it was a nice win but nothing to write home about. The first two periods were pretty good but it looked like they fell asleep in the third. That being said, it would still be a major upset if this team medals. Even Canada has come out slow against a crap Norway team.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) I hope they improve with some practice because the USA team I saw today doesnt have a good shot at medaling Drop to 0-2 with a loss to Norway and it was a bad loss since it went to an extra end and they had the hammer and still managed to blow it. The guy who throws last for them has sucked so far.
