I disagree. He just doesn't have that big curve anymore. Take the Kubel at bat, he gets two strikes on him and throws two changeups. In the past he would have dropped the curve and got him.

A closer shouldn't be giving up a single and a double when his team has a one-run lead.

Why? He had two pretty easy outs, Hardy broke his bat and blooped a single, looked pretty good to me. Clearly bad pitch selection by AJ to Thome, but Jenks's stuff is all there.

Its no unusual to see a changeup used against a left handed hitter vs a curve thrown by a righty. Of course Bobby had zero control with his change and they prob should have gone to the curve.

Jenks' stuff is really there. I'm especially impressed with that two-seamer he threw for a K or swing and miss, I don't remember which. His stuff is diverse enough that I venture to say he has starter stuff.

As long as he stays healthy, I think he can produce .280-30 HR-100 RBI easily.

Mark bouncing back after those first three innings (and throwing 113 pitches in the 2nd week of April) was huge. Not only to keep us in the game, but also to save a bullpen that's been really taxed over the previous few games. Now the Sox go into Toronto with some emotional momentum and a relatively fresh pen.

 

I can't wait to see what the Twins 3rd base coach has to say about that one. Juan Pierre with the missile to the cut off man!!!!
