Not only do we own a home that we would have to sell, but we also have two daughters. So, any move out of state would include transferring schools and avoiding paying a mortgage while renting before we buy in the new location. She'd have friends/family to stay with here while I started working in Portland. That way we'd still have 2 sources of income while she tries to land a job out there. If I can get a $10,000 increase in pay from what I make now (whic I think is reasonable if I move from my current career into an IT field), my wife could work part time as one of those women's party consultants (scrapbooking, candles, sex toys, you get the idea).
