The only thing I can think of is that Threets, despite being a lefty, doesn't get lefties out at a great rate (this year at least and granted the sample size is small). They are batting .364 against him with a .825 OPS, righties on the other hand .190/.372. I know Sale might have something in his contract, but why not just wait til September since I don't think his contract would stipulate him being called up in August? You know what might make it an even bigger issue is Mike Rizzo going on all the Chicago sports radio shows yesterday to basically say Viciedo was the reason the Dunn trade wasn't completed.
