That start a week ago has overshadowed how awful he's been lately.

Lately? He's consistently terrible.

You guys need to watch some really good baseball teams.

You're clueless as to what constitutes a good middle relief.

The Sox haven't had one since Dennis Lamb in 1983.

Pena wouldn't be on most rosters.

He wouldn't be on any of the contenders except the Sox.

I see 9-10.

Pitcher o' the month, then... Not much after that. My point, and the conversation at the time----> not an ace. 9-10 isn't really an ace's numbers.

Calm down, killer.

Sean Lowe was great. Pena's had good spurts as a long reliever, but he's been dismal as a short reliever.

I must have missed where someone said Gavin Floyd was an ace...?

So the consensus is to just play Carlos Quentin at home vs RHP?

Pena gives up 2 of Danks runners and 2 of his own putting the game out of reach.

It is absolutely remarkable how many times he's done that during the season.

No, someone said the somebody or another was pitcher of the month and inferred that indicated ace-hood sort of. Then somebody said it didn't. I offered GF as an example of it not. (Sorry, with the game as it is and my general laziness, I don't feel like going back to look it up. Anyway, it's all good... other than the score... And Danks' performance... and bullpen injuries... And our designated "hitters"...)

I think Rios thought the wall was closer, and may have messed up his shoulder a little.

trying to get danks the win was a bad ozzie move

His abrasiveness aside, his horrific handling of pitchers will be his downfall.

What a catch by Alex there.

I didn't even realize he's been so bad against LHP.

Nice tip of the hat from Swish to Rios.

Wha?

I think his handling of pitchers is vastly better than his handling of offenses.

I thought that too. Hope not.

He doesn't clear his hips enough when he faces LHP, so even if he gets good pitches to hit, he fouls it straight back.

I made the original comment, but it was saying that Jackson is a POTM candidate, and that basically says how dominant he has been with us. I forgot to highlight the part I was referring to, so some people thought I was saying POTM award makes him an ace, when I was referring to him being dominant.

It was a misunderstanding from the get-go.

Hope he doesn't lose his power :lolhitting

Yeah, the timing of his jump seemed to indicate he was going to hit the wall in the air, but I think the wall surprised him when he realized he jumped a little too early. I hope he is alright.

You're certainly right about the POTM numbers for EJ.

The problem is...there have been 3 guys who have been just as good as Jackson, all of whom have thrown 7-8 more innings.

Torres has the worst pickoff move in history.

Nice pick-off move.

LOL.

Safe to say Lillibridge is having trouble getting around on C.C.'s fastball.
