Exactly. But to be real. They could fix the ACA if they wanted. Just do it

Any reasonable government would but they gotta erase the black guy's legacy.

Having seen how the VA is run and how Medicare is run....even if it can be done without a dollar increase in my taxes, I still say no thanks.

More so than that...many of them genuinely believe anyone who isn't wealthy enough does not deserve health care. It's either personal responsibility that you got cancer, or there aren't enough doctors (and they should serve my family and not less important ones), or it's too expensive and we just have to choose to leave some people out, or costs will make people ration care if they have to bear those costs.

LoL Tomi.

There are some political commentators that I disagree with but can have a conversation and have points. But her, she is obviously only a voice because of her looks.

Its not her brains...

The number of counties with zero providers on the exchanges is dropping. If Nevada's governor had signed that state's Medicaid buy-in option, it'd be much lower.

Study: Trump actions trigger health premium hikes for 2018

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration’s own actions are triggering double-digit premium increases on individual health insurance policies purchased by many consumers, a nonpartisan study has found.

The analysis released Thursday by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that mixed signals from President Donald Trump have created uncertainty “far outside the norm,” leading insurers to seek higher premium increases for 2018 than would otherwise have been the case.

His only position is that he wants to undo anything done during the Obama administration.

This is 100% correct

European diplomats also told BuzzFeed that they think Trump's foreign policy doctrine is driven primarily "an obsession" with undoing former President Barack Obama's initiatives.

"It's his only real position," one official said. "He will ask: 'Did Obama approve this?' And if the answer is affirmative, he will say: 'We don't.'"

The official added: "He won't even want to listen to the arguments or have a debate. He is obsessed with Obama."

Trump became extremely angry and obsessed with the fact that we had a black President and has waged war on him since.

Obamacare’s Bare County Problem Looks Solved, for Now

Now, every county in the nation has at least one insurer currently willing to sell coverage for next year.

The bare county problem had been an unplanned policy hole in Obamacare, which depends on private companies to provide insurance to people who don’t get coverage through a government program or work. The federal government provides subsidies on a sliding scale to help middle-income Americans pay their premiums, but it does not force insurers to offer coverage if they don’t want to. For a while, it seemed there would be a smattering of mostly rural places in the country where no company saw a reason to participate in 2018.

Every time this thread gets bumped my heart drops. Glad to see this time it was for good news.

They're apparently trying to take another shot at repealing Obamacare via Graham-Cassidy. Repeals the mandate, turns Medicaid into a block grant program (destroys funding long-term), allows insurers to charge higher premiums for pre-existing conditions.

And John McCain may be on board despite it not being "Regular Order".

This is going to get a grand total of 2 minutes of debate because they used up all the debate time on the bill they have to slot it into. As of now, "regular order" john McCain is ok with that amount of debate over 1/6 of our economy.

I love how our government works. I thoroughly enjoy begging senators every other month to keep insurance for those in need.

Pharma companies have discovered this one neat trick to have their patents never expire so generics can never come on the market and reduce costs.

Transfer patent ownership to tribal nations where it can't be challenged and then exclusively lease the rights for a bargain.

An interesting feature of Graham-Cassidy is how it takes money from states that actually took Medicaid expansion and redistributes it to states that didn't. Cassidy said it's "unfair" that states that took the expansion get more money. Hmm, I can't think of a really simple way to fix this, unfortunately...

e: Ron Johnson also chimes in with the "it's unfair that states that voluntarily took more money get more money than states that did not" hot take

What better way to close the divide between the rich and poor than to take away health care from the poor and give the rich a big tax break?

If that won't Make America Great Again, what would?

potential bipartisan solution is dead

Am I wrong to be surprised that every time they come back with a new bill, it is somehow worse than the previous bill that everyone found to be evil and cruel?
