A.J. not close to signing with Blue Jays

AJ to the Blue Jays.

Honestly, Castro was better than AJ the last few years.

A platoon with Flowers isn't the worst thing.

EDIT: Where are you seeing this?

So Cowley Says:

"The problem is that the Pierzynski ship may have already sailed. A source close to the situation said that Pierzynski was close to signing with Toronto."

This wouldn't suprise me, but it's odd to see Cowley bury this deep in the Dunn article.

MLBTraderumors per Cowley. Nothing official, but "are close".

Damn. Oh well, I don't think it'll be a huge loss (could be wrong). Offensively, he was nothing to write home about last year.

I'd feel a hell of a lot better with him than Flowers, though. But if it's between AJ and Paulie for whatever reason, I'm going Paulie all day.

It's time for the Tyler Flowers era I guess.

Is Olivo still out there? Haha, I love that guy.

This would give the Blue Jays Pierzynski, Molina, and Arrencibia. Would be nice if Kenny could take Arrencibia off AA's hands.

This was inevitable, sad to see AJ leave and stay in the NL. AJ thanks for the memories.

Easy people, it says in there WAS close to signing with BlueJays. Doesn't mean it's happening. Besides it's Cowley.

I am ok with it being the 2007 Josh Field era....just not anything else.

IF Paulie and Dunn both happen, i'm really ok with the Tyler Flowers era starting up under the condition of a strong spring.

Yea. The fact that Cowley buried it in his Dunn article and noone else is reporting it makes me wary. I have no problem with him signing elsewhere though.

The Score's reporting it, but it's probably just derived from Cowley's article.

If AJ does sign with the Blue Jays (or another team for that matter), AJ will get quite an ovation his first time back at The Cell. He won't be booed like when he's back in Minnesota.

Honestly, no. That is ridiculous.

Maybe not the absolute worst thing, but still pretty darn bad.

I do too but apparently his own team's pitchers don't feel that way about him.

Castro sucked a lot more than A.J. in 08.

He was hitting in the .270s before the Mets traded him to the Sox.

I call BS. If this is true, AJ is just making this public to establish that he has offers on the table. Him and Cowley are friends, aren't they? I have a really hard time believing AJ jumps on some deal to play in Canada before seeing what else shakes loose out there.

My guess is this is just an attempt to establish some market value.

Now post their actual numbers. You know, there's a reason why Castro never gets those ABs.

Why doesn't he get those at-bats?

Give me a break, knight. Prorated to equal ABs? AJ > Castro
