Chad Qualls is such a loser. NL Central looks very mediocre so far, as Reds pitching is struggling as expected.

Matt Garza's BABIP must be like .600. His K/BB ratio is Cliff Lee-ish.

Cardinals giving Westbrook that extension looks like a terrible move. He has nothing!

BTW, I love the Brewers philosophy of putting a .500 OPS hitter in front of Braun and Fielder. You don't want Fielder's RBI totals to be too high and allow him to get an even bigger contract.

Duston Moseley has 4 starts and 25.2 IP and the Padres have yet to score a run while he's in the game. In fact, the run they got in the 9th off Marmol is the first run they scored in any entire game he has appeared in.

This Padres offense is so freaking pathetic. 16 LOB, not a hit in sight with RISP.

 

And just like that, Cubs win. They're getting no hitting lately, but still won 3 of 4.

Losing 10 of 11 will do that, while the Cubs have been right at .500 all season until losing the last 3, as the stat above shows.

Why do teams pitch to Soriano when he's in one of his ridiculous hot streaks?

My lord, not only is Castro significantly better than Beckham now, but Darwin Barney's having a hell of a start to his season for the Cubs. I hate baseball this year.

It was worse from 2003-2008 or 2009.

 

During that time, you had the feeling the Cubs might actually go all the way.

 

This year's team very well might have a better record than the Sox (still not likely), but I can't see them making the playoffs. Not yet. Give it another month and a half. Let's see where both teams are respectively.
