Time to start blowing slightly less. :gosox1:

Nobody is watching anymore. We all know it'll be another pitiful performance. Time to mow the lawn...

Adam Dunn with another day off. Not like it matters, he wouldn't hit a lefty anyways (.143 OPS this year, no hits).

Heard on espn that only one team has been 8 games back at the end of April and gone on to win the division.

It would be pretty awful if the mighty Baltimore Orioles took this series. I guess I'd be ok with a split only because it would be a positive trend. Oak/LAA/TB/Det- L NYY/Bal - split? I'll take it at this point.

Pretty excited to see Britton for the first time. Great sinker, plus slider, decent changeup.

I prefer when games become ugly early. I just know I'm going to be in store for some hilariously bad white sox baseball.

Tremendous start. Single, balk, steal.

and that is the the White Sox death pitch repertoire...

Nice to see Floyd pitch out of the inning without any damage. I just expect the worst, and with this team, I'm usually right.

Britton's K/BB ratio was pretty terrible coming into today so maybe the Sox will be patient today and draw a few more walks.

Let's see if the head case pale hose realize it's may and the bad April evil voodoo is over. 9 games out. According to baseball tonight only the 87 tigers have come back to win the division down 9 or more at this point. Of course they didn't get the memo that we went 25-5 in inter league.

Wow, one of the slowest starting gamethreads of the season.

Can't say it's not completely understandable.

Now foghorn is trying to put the blame on the late inning runs. Let's gloss over the pile of s*** that is our offense.

Yeah, they were talking about that yesterday...how we have given up 43 runs or something in the 7/8/9 innings in 28 games. Personally, I don't think that is outstanding, but I didn't think it was some outrageous number either.

Lets not get the thread shut down again guys...great try by Rios there. Almost got that grounder through there.

Well, the 1983 White Sox were 16-24 and 7 games back on May 26th.

That was their low point.

Of course, citing examples that happen once every 20-30 years (or 2006 Cardinals, 05 Astros, Rockies, etc.) doesn't instill too much confidence.

Foghorn likes to protect his pets.

Foghorns blame matrix.

1.). Luck

2.) weather

3.) umpires

4.) rookies

5.) pressure

6.) pitching ( bullpens )

7.) defense

8.) non favorite players ( newer non expensive ones )

9.) random stuff

Usually we get how hard x coach works. How hard the players work. Etc

Then it just repeats, over and over.

That'd translate to ~ an era of 4.6.

Of course, the fact taht you just cited 3 teams that did something like that within a period of 5 years does instill a bit

Hawk said during the broadcast lastnight that that 1983 team was 14-26 at one point...I'll trust you over the Hawkeroo on that one.

Which wouldn't lead one to believe you would be 3-14 over that stretch....which leads to the point ssi made....the offense is horrendous.

What, no curse of Yaz stories?

How is that a strike to Lillibridge and Gavin's curves weren't?

You know who I feel sorry for. Brooks who has to market this. The worst scenario must of been a slowstart. I don't think anyone had forecast a disastrous start.
