Hes been struggling, you might as well put anyone up there to try and do something than have the pitcher get out. I just dont really see the point if Gavin might have to be pulled this inning. I just think Gavin really had to fight for those outs in the 6th.

Well thats the actual problem, Ozzie benched Rios when youd really rather have Pierre on the bench if winning is the most important thing.

He's not getting a return on his investment doing that. Rios has looked like he's going through the motions again tonight. He is very graceful and sometimes that looks like a lack of effort, but even when he popped it up, he only went about 40 feet down the line.

I didnt see the first pop up, but the other plays I saw nothing different than what 75% or more baseball players do.

 

Rios didnt slam the bat, he didnt go insane and not run to first, he just didnt run 100% down the line. Thats not something new in todays game.

 

Its like saying youd bench Konerko because he didnt run out a play, its silly. I get that people are upset at Rios for not playing up to his contract, but hes still a better player than Pierre.

 

I could give 100% every at bat, I still wouldnt deserve to be playing.
