August 13, 201114 yr I thought the problem was Dunn, Guillen's lineup? Looks like things go a bit deeper than that. You lineup gurus ought to look at our 2B and particularly, the sacred cows of this board, the SS, RF'er and of course Hollywood. Bruce Chen is terrible.
August 13, 201114 yr Were we just referred to as scared cows? But seriously, there will be some major changes in the offseason in the front office and management. And that makes me very happy.

You lineup gurus ought to look at our 2B and particularly, the sacred cows of this board, the SS, RF'er and of course Hollywood. Bruce Chen is terrible. Ok Joe. I want 9 OG type players in the lineup. They'd score 7 runs on 10 hits. All year.
August 13, 201114 yr The problem runs deeper than Dunn. Dunn is a symptom. The problem is Walker and Ozzie.
August 13, 201114 yr Author Despite what many on Soxtalk believe, there is no lineup combination on this roster that would average 6 runs a game. Edited August 13, 201114 yr by Marty34
August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) Despite what many on Soxtalk believe, there is no lineup combination on this roster that would average 6 runs a game. More than 2 would be nice.
August 13, 201114 yr The inability for everyone on the roster to not be able to hit soft tossing lefties is a direct reflection on Greg Walker and his strategy for hitting that type of pitcher. Edited August 13, 201114 yr by PeavyTime
August 13, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) The inability for everyone on the roster to not be able to hit soft tossing lefties is a direct reflection on Greg Walker and his strategy for hitting that type of pitcher. I wish it were that simple. I do think though that they could benefit some from a different approach, but again that's Hollywood's call.
August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) Despite what many on Soxtalk believe, there is no lineup combination on this roster that would average 6 runs a game. The best offense in baseball doesn't even score 6 runs a game.
August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Please god stop saying Hollywood. +1
August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) Give it up Cowardly. No one cares about your Guillen ass-kissing anymore. It's starting to make sense now...
August 13, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Please god stop saying Hollywood. I think it's an apt description of our tough-talking GM.
August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) I think it's an apt description of our tough-talking GM. I would say both our manager and GM are tough-talkers who don't back it up.
August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) I think it's an apt description of our tough-talking GM. "They're real Hollywood down there" - Joakim Noah when referring to Miami's Big 3 "Hollywood doesn't know what he's doing" - Marty34 when referring to White Sox GM Kenny Williams Doesn't have the same flare...
August 13, 201114 yr Author Cowley got in Soxtalk's grill a little bit and since then no one likes him. Weird stuff.

August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) Cowley got in Soxtalk's grill a little bit and since then no one likes him. Weird stuff. NOBODY likes Cowley. The guy's a douche. August 13, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) I would say both our manager and GM are tough-talkers who don't back it up. I don't disagree. Guillen takes an inordinate amount of the heat (even for a manager) though.

August 13, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) I think it is mostly Soxtalk that doesn't like him. I didn't even post on this site much when the A-Gon stuff came up. I honestly don't care about that. I don't dislike Cowley because of that. I dislike him for some of the other stuff he's said or done (like basically calling Gavin Floyd brain-dead) and just being an ass in general.
