Why not? Seriously. If he's good enough to be in the lineup, he's good enough to bat 4th. He's been hitting better as of late too.

Last 7 days, .579 OPS.

Really...he hasn't been hitting better.

I believe of the three (Pierre, De Aza and rios) rios has the lowest OPS against LHP but sure rios brings those intangibles like lackadaisical play and not knowing how many outs there are with 2 outs in 9th that you just can't teach.

There is absolutely no reason to continue to play rios

He hits better against Minny than any other team.

.261 average, a whopping .748 OPS.

I hope for your sake that you're just trolling....but even at that point...who trolls a White Sox message board?

Trolling a large message board with a ton of traffic I can understand...but trolling a board with maybe 20 active posters? Do not get.

I don't like Rios, but for today this is the right move.

Unless De Aza and Lillibridge are both hurt, no.

How can anyone with any sanity think it's a good idea to bat a hitter with an OBP of .253 in the cleanup spot? Have you started drinking early?

No. Right-handed hitters have an .840 OPS versus Diamond.

Brent Lillibridge hits right handed last time I watched.

Rios isn't a typical right handed hitter. He is literally one of the worst full time players in all of baseball.

Tigers/Royals 1-1 after 2 and a half in Detroit. Days like this I miss Ernie Harwell.

By the way, we all know that since Marty is so obviously wrong here, Rios will do something useful today, right?

They won last night with him hitting 4th, scored 8 runs.

Can't do that. Stick to your convictions.

You're turning into greg. Correlation does not imply causation.

That's usually how baseball works, Joe.

I see Giants designated OF Aaron Rowand for assignment.

He's a version of Alex Rios that hustles.

Tigers lead 2-1 now on a WP.

LOL

A routine double play ball that was botched by the Twins and a seeing eye pop up that dropped. WOW!!

MVP! MVP! MVP!

And stop trolling dude. You're being ridiculous at this point.
