I think people overestimate Flynn's ability. It's not terribly difficult to look good in garbage time or in the preseason. Unless Flynn has made just incredible strides in the NFL, he'll never be starter material. I watched this guy plenty at LSU and he was simply an average QB.

He played pretty well in New England last year.

He was average at LSU, but he has now been with Mike McCarthy for 3 years.

I'm not saying he is gonna be the next Aaron Rodgers, but I think he has a chance to be a starter.

Also can we stop with the why can't Aaron Rodgers get hurt. Let's not do that.

The Packers had plenty of injuries last year. They need a year off from injuries.

Oh whatever, Row... If he got hurt, you know you wouldn't feel sorry for him. Just like no Packers fan feels bad about us losing Cutler.

I'm not a Bears fan, man. Trust me, I'm not above rooting for injuries but considering I'm very indifferent on both the Bears and Packers and Rodgers is on my fantasy team, just no.

Even if Rodgers did get hurt now and out for six weeks, I don't see why the Pack still wouldn't have the #1 seed

So, this makes me want the Bears to get Chandler Harnish in the seventh round.

Ha, fair point.

Oh, they probably would. Like I said, I don't wish anything serious on the guy. Just enough to make him a little rusty and out-of-sync when he comes back for the playoffs.

Disclaimer: I'm partially kidding. I never do wish injury on a guy, especially one like Rodgers that I can't really hate. But, I really would be okay with something that keeps him out a few games so as to maybe ruining this rhythm he's found himself b/c frankly, right now he's unstoppable.

I have never once been confident in a Bears team until the last few weeks.

the Bears were looking very good.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:42 AM)
The numbers are exteremely close for both teams with the niners having a slight edge in scoring, I'm going by the eye test. It's obovious Cutler > Smith, but I'd take Gore Davis Edwards Crabtree Walker all over any of the bears....

Forte > Gore.

Fact.

Not really unreasonable... dude is ballin'.

Sounds like Cutler could/should be back by either the Packers or Vikings game.

Where did you see this? I've seen no estimates of a return date/game??

Anyone think Rodgers will pass the 50 TD mark this year?

He needs to average a little over 3 TD a game to get there.

Wait what, Gore is not better than Forte.

Forte has better yards per carry, yards per catch and beats Gore in total yards from scrimmage.

He is. And watching him, he's just a smart quarterback.

I'd really love to have him as the backup QB.

I think you have a typo in there somewhere.

Gore is so good he is better than himself...at everything.

Yeah I was on the phone, I aws at first going to be sarcastic and say "Gore must be better because he has less" but then i switched and just was going to focus on Forte.

I thought I changed ti quick, but I guess that you guys were to quick.

I just saw this on Rotoworld:

ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that the Bears have "revised" Jay Cutler's (thumb) timeline for return and now believe he could play in Week 16 or 17 of the regular season.

Per Nichols, the Bears became a bit more optimistic after Cutler consulted a hand specialist on Monday morning. Cutler will still require surgery, but his season may not quite be over yet. "They're saying he could be back for the last game, maybe even last two games of the regular season," reported Nichols. Cutler isn't worth hanging onto in standard, 12-team fantasy leagues, but it appears he could be all systems go just before the NFL playoffs.

That fapping sound you hear? That's me masturbating.

I really hope that is correct. I also am hoping the Bears are still being extra conservative regarding the timeline and in fact he'll have had a week of practice time prior to that Minnesota game. But I'm sure its not true.

At this point, we just wait and hope that Cutler heals quick and that the doctors do a great job.

I think the Bears should bring back Todd Collins. That would be cool suicide inducing.

Fixed.

Bah. 3rd most accurate kicker of all time, in Chicago, is f***ing impressive. If he keeps it up for another 6-7 years there's no reason Gould shouldn't be a candidate.

No, he wont be.

Gore is about to become the 49ers all time leading rusher behind names like Craig, Watters, Hearst and Perry...

When Forte has the career Gore has, I'll hear you out...

And going by your logic, Philip Rivers is better than Cutler.........

Is Jay having surgery today?
