How slow is Rios now? Sad thing is that was the most predictable DP of the season. 39 at bats and counting since his last extra base hit or walk.

LOL same thing I tried to post I said " Oh Rios you are so predictable" but got the error message pink screen when I sent it.

Makes you wonder how in the world he was ever a high prospect?

someone earlier said you were posting like a pregnant woman and it's true... you've been b****ing about KW non-stop yourself. what a weird post.

Seriously, if Marty's been watching Stewart pitch from spring training on, there's absolutely nothing to like, and no way to project success at even the AA/AAA level.

Remember, this is a guy who had a 7.88 ERA against any team not named the Twins (worst hitting team in the majors, essentially, without Morneau) last year.

Throwing 89-91 MPH against any major league team for 2-3 times up is a recipe for disaster without perfect control.

So yeah, I really thought the main reason Marty wanted to see him is because he was another "centerpiece" acquired for one of our key players last year.

I see it did go through my bad.

Probably has something to do with how he used to be throwing 5+ mph harder??

Maybe throwing at BP speed is under the "hitting speed" and fooling the Tigers hitters.

He's struggling to get the ball past 89 today. Weird.

He had a great run for a while there but you knew he'd turn back into Alex.

He was always 90+ starting for us last year and would even mix in a few at 94. Scouting reports said when he came out of the bullpen in the minors he was at 95-96...I'd like to see that.

On the bright side, his ball is moving quite a bit today when he locates it.

You have to cross Peavy and Dunn off your hitlist and add Danks and Morel to Rios.

Waste 0-2 count. Balk. Put 2 runners in scoring position. Lovely.

Santiago should be in to face Dirks. This is the guy to get before you face Cabrera.

lol @ intentional balk

Pshew. Flirting with disaster. And not the movie with Tea Leoni.

Big out...still hanging in this game. I bet Benoit is closing for them today.

woohoo!

Dodged a bullet there.

Stewart > Axelrod.

Stewart > Axelrod.

Again, disagree. Got away with some bad hangers in that inning, and his sinker isn't good enough to be a 1-pitch pitcher.

Laird was their only decent RH hitter, and you can't burn your catcher there.

So that would have left Worth or Santiago, both well under .200, against Santiago or possibly Thornton.

Or the song by Lynard Skynard.

Seriously Alexei? Stop dropping your back shoulder

I was hoping for an injury on that slip

Based on evidence from what world?

Axelrod's a pitcher and a battler. You have to love any 30th round draft pick who gets released and makes it to the majors.

Seriously, something has been wrong with Stewart physically since ST.
