It's been interesting reading a Rays message board after the Q incident. After he was thrown out, they all were saying "f*** AJ!" "AJ is an asshole", and basically everyone blamed AJ for the throw behind Zobrist, and also no one there said anything about it being a bad call.

Then, when De Aza got hit, someone said "Good, I hope his career is over", and later referred to De Aza as a baby back b**** who can't keep his legs together, and getting hit was his own fault.

THEEEEENNN, someone posted about hearing the possibility of Howell hitting De Aza on purpose, and they said it's nearly impossible to have that kind of control, and that AJ fouling those pitches in to Molina seemed more likely to be on purpose than Howell trying to hit De Aza.

The Rays have fans?

This will be a HUGE win for us if we can hold on...

I would give anything to bypass the off day tomorrow.

Q!uetzalcoatl might not have been tossed if he'd actually hit the guy. It's easier to make a lower-body HBP look like an accident and Wegner might not have been able to declare it intentional.

Wow, that's some quality ignorance.

The fact that Quintana didn't hit him is the most jarring thing about it. When you're hitting someone with the baseball, I'm never going to be anything more than irritated about him getting tossed. Missing him completely before any warnings was asinine...what made that situation worse than AJ actually getting hit? Just doesn't like AJ?

good job thornton

For sure!!

Although umpire supervisor Charlie Reliford was clear that no warning is needed by the ump was deemed to be intentional.

Which it surely was.

Crain vs. Rodriguez.

Then they should not ever issue warnings. I could see if they actually drilled him and it was intentional, an ejection. But not hitting him doesn't warrant an ejection without previous warning, when you have warnings at your disposal. You usually don't get as much time for attempted murder as you would get for murder.

It's clear he was drunk off the poisonous mushroom and felt badly about sleeping with his sister.

lets add some runs now!

Nice job pitching by the Sox in that inning.

That's even bad for the world of the anonymous internet.

They should make everybody print their real names and addresses and posts like that would stop.

For those who CAN'T READ...

Political discussion ends now. Deletions and suspensions will follow if further posts are made of that variety.

The heat generated from this game is spilling over into the game thread.

I love it.

If AJ is coordinated enough to intentionally foul pitches off in that exact direction multiple times in an at-bat, he ought to be hitting like Babe Ruth

If De Aza is hurt badly, the Sox need to send a real message the next time these two teams play in Chicago.

The mod needs to umpire this game instead of the clueless hack behind the plate.

I doubt it. Idiots don't give a s**t.

You must not read the things people post on their facebook

It should be 2-1 not 1-2, ump.

Yeah, drill Upton and then drill him again on a pickoff throw over to first.

Wow, surprised they had Pena in the hole like that

good ground ball hit right at Pena

Thornton just tied Bobby Thigpen for most relief appearances by a Chicago White Sox pitcher, career-wise.
