Jordan Danks,

What were you thinking...?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 06:05 PM)
Terrible, this one is on Ventura. Hooray for rookie managers.

My bullpen has been overused the past couple of days, and my starter is throwing a shutout and has only thrown about 76 pitches. I know, I'll pull him out of the game. Brilliant!

And what's this s*** I've heard that Jordan Danks is the best outfielder in the organization?

This game sucked to lose. Now we get to look forward to Stewart starting tomorrow with Thornton and Reed having been used again today.

Robin, next time you have a chance to try and score in the top of the 10th and have 1/3 of your starting lineup on the bench, please try to get your good players into the game. It was like he was playing for a 15 inning game.

There were two outs.

Ah correct. I missed that.

Well, Happy Fathers Day everyone. This clearly sucked, but nothing more to say about that debacle.

Matt Thornton gave up two soft liners to left field

He no longer can get K's when he needs them.

Everytime the batters put the bat on the ball, something bad happens to him, and it has been the case since April of 2011 or really since the ASG and Thome beating the hell out of him in the 2nd half of 2010.

He's just been a shell of his former self the last two years. No confidence. It's almost like he expects something to go wrong.

Meh in the end its just a game. Life moves on and we play the Cubs on Monday.

Still in first. Don't deserve it.

Quintana should have went CG. Shouldn't have been the Sunday line up with Stewart going tomorrow. Robin's worst series so far

Happy Father's Day, buddy! Enjoy your day!

Im actually interested to see how Stewart pitches. Not expecting a complete shelling.

1-4 now in extra innings, also very bad in one run games.

11 blown saves leads the American League...which is pretty amazing when all you hear is raves about Reed, Jones, Thornton, Crain, etc.

Well at least we didn't have to stay up late watching this disaster....

Taking Q out was quite confusing. Didn't understand that one at all.

Ever since he was put in the closer role.

Far from a no-brainer to leave Q in to pitch the 9th. Leave him in and HE loses the game his confidence could take a hit and this is a guy we look to be counting on here at least short-term.

Thornton is just terrible when the game is on the line. Sox fans love him though. Most overrated Sox player in recent memory.

When you talk about players crapping their pants when the game is on the line Thornton is a top of that list... dude can't seem to handle that pressure

But...just.....what... Completely speechless. No coherence whatsoever.

When you look at Sox teams from 2006 on Thornton is quite emblematic.

Closer has to shut it down.

WTF are you talking about. You live and die with the guy who you got you there, especially when he's thrown UNDER 80 pitches. Completely mind-boggling.

It's obvious the guy knows how to pitch and is a competitor, he's not going to "lose it" if he ends up losing it himself. This guy is a stud.

Remains to be seen if the guy is a stud. The closer has to shut it down. The bigger issue is Reed's stuff hasn't been as dominant as what we saw at the end of last year.

Quintana threw like 7 pitches in the 8th inning. He was f***ing cruising. You don't pull a guy like that out for anyone, I don't care if he is Eric Gagne in the midst of 60 straight saves.

I had no problem with taking him out.

That doesn't make it any less of the wrong move.
