There's no f***ing way we should trade Reed for Shields. Jones and Mitchell, maybe.

 

I would trade Reed straight-up for Shields, but I'm sure Tampa would want more. As I mentioned earlier, Tampa is desperate for catching prospects.

why are they trying to trade shields if theyre only 2 1/2 back in the wild card?

 

Doesn't Shields have a 4.5 ERA. What am I missing here? The point of all this trade speculation is to acquire a "top of the rotation guy" Not another #4 or #5.

Supposedly he's had a falling out with their pitching coach. Also, he's going to make 20 million or so the next two years, which is a lot for a team with Tampa's payroll. And the final reason is that Tampa wants to be able to use him as trade bait to bring in more talent. Considering Tampa's view on relievers, I can't see them viewing Reed as the prize return in a trade.

Humber is worse than mediocre. He really is.

 

While I agree Kenny is going to aim high, he'll also get somebody to replace Humber if that's all he can get.

 

Humber is so bad right now we have zero chance in Saturday's game. Zero.

 

I love the posts on this thread. I've been reading them the last 10 minutes.

The Greinke talk has died down but the bottom line after reading the posts is he's here for 2 months. That's it. No way he is going to re-sign with the Sox. Who cares how good he is? You can't give up valuable pieces of the future for 10 starts.

I will be furious if he trades Reed, Q and others for a rental.

 

As far as Reed, I don't care if the Sox trade him for somebody that will remain a White Sox for at least 2 years. Just no rental.

He's most likely going to get traded. Tampa considers him expensive. He hasn't been good this year despite decent peripherals. I honestly don't think we should trade Reed for Tampa and Tampa would think the same. We don't have any real catching prospects to give them, the only guy I can think of is Phegley and he's not very highly regarded.

Only way I could be okay with a trade for ZG is if he re-signs here, and we all know he won't.

 

Please move on KW. There are other fish in the sea! Get us something, though..

Gotta be a lefty IMO. RVs use of Santiago shows he doesn't trust him (and he shouldn't trust hector at this point), and all those appearances seem to be taking some toll on thronton

Yep, especially considering it's likely he'd struggle when he returns just based on inactivity and strength.
