Molina only threw 3innings, gave up a bomb.

Eric Grabe looking for a promotion out of rookie ball.

Nice game for Stoner....and that's about it....

Since when is Saladino in AAA?

Guess he took Olmedo's place. Not sure if he or Mitchell are ready, but we'll find out soon enough.

Got a hit in his first game, played SS.

It's what they call a "promotion."

Where the hell is Barnum? I thought he was supposed to be back this week?

Mitchell has been there for about a week, and put up nice numbers so far.

Except for the K's, but he's still at .300 and still walking at a good clip.

Has to clean up the baserunning miscues a bit.

Mitchell isn't anywhere close to putting up nice numbers in Triple A. So far, he's putting up a .250 BA and .650 OPS, and striking out almost 50% of the time, which is almost impossible for a non power hitter. He's clearly not ready for this league.

Our boys went 0-6 yesterday.

Charlotte's win not count?

Shirek is on a nice little roll for Charlotte.

In 4 starts since the all star break, he has 20 K's and 1 BB (23 innings).

Has a 5:1 K/BB on the season.

3.5:1 vs lefties.

7.5:1 vs righties.

Way too early to say that. There are a lot of 1 week samples that make Dunn look much worse

The big difference for him this year is that he's maintaining the strike outs, and core results, late into the season. He has run out of gas most years before this one, and did better in the bullpen. I've got his AAP thread, and I'm as surprised as anyone. I thought he had reliever written all over him.

Charlie has always had good stuff, he was considered a high end draft pick at one point, until he spun out his Junior season at Nebraska, and the Sox picked him up low in the draft hoping to get him righted. He can hit mid-90's, has sink on his stuff, has plus control. But his secondary stuff was always a question, as was his stamina.

Way too early to say what? That he's not ready for Triple A? He's hit like .220 the last two and a half months, striking out once every 2.5 ABs. It's not just a one week sample, but it's been the trend for half a season now. 3 more K's in 4 AB for him tonight. That ratio is more palatable if he is a power hitter, but he's not. I don't want to poop all over him, but there is a glaring hole in his game, and it's hard to have much faith in him at this point.

A lot of experts say the jump from AA to AAA is the smallest one in the minors. He goes from a pitchers' park to a hitters' park. This isn't an earth shattering jump for the player.
