They have struggled against the Indians and were recently swept by the Royals. They lost a game with Scherzer on the mound who went 8 innings.

How has them beating us worked out so far in Detroit? Every time they dominate the Sox they fall into a slump.

Seven straight one-run losses. Pitching staff has given up 20 runs in the last 9 games and and are 4-5. That's not good for them.

It's not macho stuff. Struggling against the Royals is entirely mental. The Royals think they can beat us, they think they're every bit as good. They clearly aren't.

I don't think that will matter, though I wouldn't mind plunking him. Let's face it, we've had three straight important series with the Royals and we can't win a game. They've got our number this year. Let's face it, we have to grin and bear it for what, five more games against 'em. If it's five, we'll lose four or all five. It's just the way it is this year against KC.

The Sox have shown no signs of waking up against Detroit and KC. Our team should be so excited this weekend and early next week to get even against the Royals and Tigers. Instead ... 0-1 with six more disastrous outings to come.
