Santiagos's Screwball vs Guthrie's AL Rebirth

Santiago is getting tired....still hasn't built up his endurance/stamina to 100%.

Brings up the question why the bullpen wasn't up to start the inning.

Seriously Robin, bullpen gets 8 warmup pitches total?

Get him out of there.

Nice job by Hector, hopefully he won't be in line for the loss after this inning.

Standing O for 4 innings? Polite applause, yes.

I'm quite confused as to why they let him start this inning.

Omogrosso on.

Biggest appearance of his major league career, arguably.

They were, I thought. Still feels like one of those times they should just let Jones start an inning.

Are we to assume the Royals will win the division next year based on their play against the Sox and their last series vs. Detroit?

Watch out for the hit and run here with Escobar.

Not very excited about seeing Axelrod in this game.

Scary as he might be, would prefer Jones.

Septimo also up.

Not a chance in hell

In the 5th inning? Jones isn't going to pitch the next 3 innings.

The Royals and Pirates are in the same category...

Until they do it, they'll never do it.

Would be interesting to see how much more the Cubs' attendance would have been today at home compared to the Sox with the Bears also playing at Soldier Field.

Doubt there's even 20,000 fans today.

Septimo SHOULD be used against Gordon here.

The next 3-4 innings are going to take 2 hours going batter by batter with September rosters.

Whew, got away with some bad pitches. Good job though!

I turned to the Bears game expecting there to be a pitching change. I'm stunned he's not using Septimo here.

More defensive issues/lapses today for the Sox.

Bad BO did a nice job against him.

A bullpen management decision by Ventura worked.

Yay!

Nice job by Omogrosso (Ventura made the right choice it seems)

Time to score 2 runs this inning

Or he just got lucky.

But better to be good, if you want to beat the Tigers. Let's score a FREAKING run here.

With that Tigers defense I'd be plenty content with slightly lucky against them.
