Because he was watching NFL Sunday Ticket on his smartphone and wasn't paying attention.

You know it would be perfect to lose today, then lose 3/4 at home against the Tigers.

 

That's exactly the way this season has played out...leaving a 20 game sprint against mostly division foes.

 

After next Thursday, the Tigers have the easier schedule IMO.
