OK guys, enough of the personal stuff. Let it go.

Huh? I can't call out Torii Hunter for being racist?

Anyway, what would be the opinion if the Sox were to trade Gavin Floyd + Matt Thornton + Jared Mitchell + cash to the Dbacks for 3B Chris Johnson (they are openly trying to upgrade 3B) and SP Trevor Bauer (has fallen out of favor in ARI, trying to trade him as well). Sox get an upgrade over Morel (albeit, not a very big one) and a high ceiling young SP who is 21, and is a big time strikeout pitcher (with some control issues).

And if you don't like the trade for either Sox or Dbacks, then what about Chris Johnson in general? Not a real big splash, but an okay offensive player who is at the very least an upgrade over Morel.

He can't see my posts - so I don't think anything personal was directed at me.

That's because he's not a significant upgrade, pay attention.

I block Steve, so I don't know how you could possibly tell me to "quit it".

However, I am not surprised at all he would be talking s*** behind my back. Sounds about right.

Ventura- 12 3rd place votes for Manager of the Year.

When you choose to block someone, the things they post are not "behind your back." They are under your nose. Not to say you should be replying to them, but it isn't by any means sneaky or anything like that.

Now carry on

One of my buddies on facebook said the score just announced the Sox signed some catcher for 1.5 mill...anyone else hear anything more? cant find anything online.

I'm not seeing anything on the Twitter.

Per MLBTR

•The Marlins plan to start Adeiny Hechavarria at shortstop with Yunel Escobar playing third base, Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. However, the Marlins haven't ruled out flipping Escobar to a third team.

If we got the 2011 version of Escobar I would welcome him to play 3rd base for the Sox.

His response to me saying you sure it wasnt the Cubs and Navarro

"Maybe ...they could've said the wrong team ...wouldn't b the first time the score f***ed up"

Me thinks he just heard wrong.

If you could get him without the attitude, I'd have no problem with it. However, all strings attached, Yunel Escobar is a POS.

I had the same idea. He's a fairly cheap option and probably won't take much to acquire in a trade.

The trend is that Escobar usually produces when he's on his first stint with a team.

Don't have time to look it up while I'm at work, but do what does his contract look like?

It's really nice, like $5m next year with a $5m option or something.

DAN HAYES

With the winter meetings in Nashville, Tenn only 2 1/2 weeks away, Rick Hahn senses a surge in transactions may arrive shortly.

The White Sox general manager said Thursday night teams have begun to “zero in” on their options as evidenced by this week’s megatrade between the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays. Hahn thinks the White Sox could experience an uptick of their own as they continue to try and fill the holes on their roster, namely at third base and catcher.

“Things are starting to happen, conversations are starting to get a little more substantive and offers are flying back and forth so something can happen at any time,” Hahn said.

Asked whether more of his conversations are with agents or fellow GMs, Hahn described the split as fairly even. One agent Hahn has had several conversations with is Joe Bick, who represents third baseman Kevin Youkilis. The White Sox have had repeated conversations about Youkilis --- who had 15 homers and 46 RBIs in a White Sox uniform last season --- and have explored several other options, both internal and external. Youkilis has reportedly drawn the interest of a half-dozen teams aside from the Sox, which Hahn said falls in line with what he expected when the veteran reached free agency this offseason.

“It’s not a shock that he’s heard from a bunch of teams,” Hahn said. “It’s not a shock that he’s popular and it’s not a shock that it’s going to be a challenge to bring him back. But we continue to have dialogue with he and other options and we’ll see where it goes.”

Hahn refuses to speculate on whether or not Youkilis or free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski would return to the White Sox in 2013. He did clarify that the White Sox have several other options at third base ahead of a potential return to the position for Dayan Viciedo, who played left field in 2012. Hahn believes Viciedo is capable of handling the position but doesn’t want to ask him to reverse course.

“I think he’s athletic enough to handle it but at the same time we’ve moved this kid around a lot,” Hahn said. “We’re asking him a lot of him offensively in terms of the role he plays in our offense going forward so at this time I don’t think another move is in his best interest. It’s something we have talked about a lot. It’s something we’ll continue to consider. We won’t rule it out but we’ve got a lot of other options ahead of that one.”

The team also has internal options to ably replace bullpen coach Juan Nieves, who last week accepted a job to be the Boston Red Sox pitching coach. Hahn said he fully expects an internal hire.

ESPN insider has Eric Chavez, Jeff Keppinger, Freddy Sanchez, and Kelly Johnson tagged as possibilities for 3B. I'm not an insider so I don't know what was said about them.

Johnsons basically a LH Gordon Beckham. Wouldn't be the worst option though.

Freddy Sanchez hasn't stayed healthy in 5 years.

Keppinger is somewhat intriguing but I'd prefer a LHer

I think Chavez is the best option of the bunch on a 1 year deal. He's gotta be paired with someone who can hit LH pitching though. I'm too tired to look up a good match in a platoon.
