Rangers moved their start time from 7:05p to 11:05a because of the forecast...and it looks like they'll be in a delay by the 3rd inning.

Also looks like rain for the Indians/Twins game.

I think I'm rooting for a three way tie. A team could potentially play four games in four cities in four days.

Cleveland has the 21st best record vs .500 or better teams at 36-52.

Yeah, and they are an insane 54-18 against below .500 teams.

It would be wild, but I'm leaning toward just wanting to see the Rangers come up short.

Then the Rays beating the Indians and then it would be Rays-Red Sox, Tigers-A's.

Definitely rooting for an A's-Pirates World Series--but it won't happen

Actually, if it's Dodgers-Red Sox, I may puke.

Everyone reporting Pence about to sign an extension with the Giants for 5/90....yikes

Feeling the warm spit in my mouth, just thinking about it.

This is a crappy Jason Werth-like precedent for the offseason.

Rays giving up homers to guys I've never heard of, Rangers 3 outs from victory. They would be tied if results hold.

Looks like if the Indians sweep the Twins, they'll host the WC Game.

Kind of, except Pence is younger than Werth was, is coming off a better season than Werth was, and got a shorter deal than Werth did. Plus, $18M now is less than $18M 3 years ago.

The Pence deal actually isn't that bad. He should be a 4 WAR player for most of this deal.

Half of those wins are against the White Sox...

Bitter sarcasm for sure.

Henderson Alvarez no-hitting the Tigers through 8. But it's a 0-0 game.

thru 9 now

of course the Marlins cant even do no-hitters right

A walk-off no-hitter for Alvarez on a wild pitch!! lol

Interleague ends 154-146, in favor of the AL.

So do we know the playin game matchups yet? I'm drinking on a beach.

Am I seeing right that there is a Rays Rangers play-in?

Correct. Monday night 8:07 ET in Texas. Price vs. TBD. Winner plays in Cleveland on Wednesday.

A play-in game to decide who plays in the, um, play-in game? This second wild card is the dumbest s*** ever.

Just be happy that the Indians didn't lose a game this weekend. Then there would have been two two play-in games to decide who plays in the play-in game.

I like the second wildcard. It keeps a lot of teams alive later into the season. But I don't like calling the Reds, Pirates, and Indians playoff teams yet. Those teams shouldn't have had champagne celebrations and all the hoopla until they are one of four in the league alive (actually I think the Reds didn't, so good for them).

Basically, the next three nights are elimination games, and it should be a lot of fun.

Just do home-and-home series with away runs as the tiebreaker.

Alex Guerrero derby: Seven teams in play, Dodgers not quite out

September 30, 2013 3:59 pm ET

Several teams -- believed to include the Red Sox, Giants, Rangers, Reds and Dodgers -- are said to be in the running for free agent Cuban infielder Alex Guerrero.

At least seven teams are said to have made bids for the power-hitting middle infielder.
