He's played >200 games out there and rates 2.3 UZR/150. He's a fine CF. When he b****es and moans and plays LF, not only does he unnecessarily screw up our continuity plus move a bad CF'er to CF (Wise), he becomes a rookie again in stadiums like this where he normally would never have to think about how the ball bounces off the walls. He has so much less value as a LF in general if he thinks that's where his future is.

If so, why does Alejandro himself say he ain't comfortable in center?

I think next year it will be someone outside the organization starting in CF.

Which will suck, because it means that Mitchell, Thompson and Walker all stalled in their development to the point where, ONCE AGAIN, we had to go outside of the organization for talent, either overpaying for a FA or giving up pitching depth from the minors.

Otherwise, it's a mini-"fire sale" to find a CFer.

Tigers beating up the Twins 6-1 behind Verlander...Tigers starting to play much better baseball. The might not be waiting until August to wake up from their stupor this season.

Sox have a terrible habit last few years thinking scoring 2 runs in the first inning then 8 innings of nada is enough to win games.

Love seeing Gillaspie do this against a quality pitcher. He's having solid AB's

How are those ER's for Quintana, they wouldn't of scored if Greene would of made the damn throw!

FWIW, Rangers' announcers said the rumor about Gillaspie is that he was complaining to Bochy about lack of playing time.

That probably explains why they gave up on him pretty quickly...change of scenery thing, like Jon Rauch pushed himself into with KW about 10 years ago.

Bochy runs a pretty tight ship.

Probably because there is a lot less ground to cover in the corners. Or he's an idiot. Who knows. Our team is far better off with him in CF with the possible exception of when Danks plays there...but in that case, why would you want to rearrange the defense for the few times he plays?

c'mon Sox, show some fight.

If you are waiting for Mitchell and Walker it will be alot longer than 2014 IF ever.

The Tigers also did well against Cy Worley.

In my dumb opinion, this Tigers team is the most talented team the Sox have had to contend with in the AL Central since those loaded Indians teams with Manny and Thome, etc.

yeah, you know we'll make them pay for that mistake

Great post

Another advantage of Viciedo coming back....DeAza will have to play CF.

Got the break at 1B. Can the White Sox take advantage offensively?

Or the Twins/Tigers in the 2nd half of 2006 when they both blew by the White Sox....Liriano and Verlander were both coming into their own, Morneau and Mauer and Hunter and all those guys were close to being in their primes.

The Twins had that White Sox 1983-ish second half run.

NO GREEN!

WISE! MVP of the game is Jordan Danks' knee.

f*** De Aza, I'm on the Weezy train now boys

do something de nada

Hey, we made an opposing pitcher pay for a mistake.

Career homer #31 for Wise.

Perhaps the most important in his SOX career since the end of the 2008 season.

60 MPH curveball floating up there.

I would rather have one of those guys learn on the job. I think it could be fun in sort of a way. If we're gonna have bad seasons let it be with kids trying and giving effort something like 1999

Honestly, I have never been a Hawk hater--but it is seriously getting to the point where I can't enjoy team success.
