GB needs to sit for a week. He is sucking since ASB.

I tend to agree but the guy have 5 decent pitches. On any given day he could be an ace but otherwise he's a #2-#3 on an average team.

Since when is a 4.42 ERA in the NL a #2 or 3 pitcher?

Ha, this defense is comical.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 02:58 AM)
Since when is ERA the only statistic to consider when figuring such a thing?

I get that the win stat isn't important, but to me, ERA over the course of a season is about the only thing I care about for a starting pitcher.

Only 3 errors tonight.

Don't forget the DP that wasn't turned as well, as well as the hit by Dozier that was originally an error

Ugh, Cubs lose on squeeze play

Sox will drop to 4th as the last blow of the season

If they end up tied with the Cubs, the Cubs get the higher pick, correct?

Yep. If the Sox win tonight, our magic number stays 9, and the Cubs will be 14.

Heck, the Sox could drop to 5th.

Leury is fast

You don't think the Sox will win the Axelrod/Scherzer match-up on Friday?

Yes he is. When's the last time the Sox have had someone faster?

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 04:11 AM)
On another note, Bill Melton is horrible.

My favorite comment by Melton tonight was when he said Viciedo has above average speed

Ugly ab Beckham

When did that happen?

Supposed to be Rienzo, Sale, and Johnson in Detroit. Quintana vs Toronto on Monday.

Ugly ab Beckham

Pretty obvious what's wrong with him at the plate. Seems to be hitting off his back foot and has no momentum going towards the pitcher prior to his swing.

I thought they were putting Axelrod into the rotation for Santiago, but maybe you're right and they're just skipping Hector.

Also, I like that Melton called our starting pitcher tonight "Santana". It's a good nickname for Hector/Jose

Nasty

Nasty

No problem if they trade Reed and go into next year with Jones as the closer

I think there are more people in this gamethread than are in the bleachers
