The bathroom scene makes it difficult if not impossible for my wife and I to continue with that show. Completely unnecessary and frankly way out of character. That show has dropped so far from season 1.

FWIW...a couple reviews I read said it gets better around episode 3. I figure I'd give it a few shows before I bail on it. Then again....knowing FOX....might not make it that long.

 

Nearly all comedies are awful to start. Seinfeld was terrible. Friends was terrible. HIMYM wasn't great. New Girl was terrible. It's tough to set up a world and be funny. That takes time.

That was very uncomfortable to watch.. Would like to see more of the show be around Brody then Carrie.

What? No way. Friends was great for 4-5 years. HIMYM was good for a few. New Girl has been decent (last season was meh).

 

Mulaney could be terrible but you can't base that on the pilot alone.

 

 

It's one of those shows that I'll watch if it's on and nothing else is. My mom was/is obsessed with it so when I was living with her I basically had to watch it.

My wife is the exact same way. Every episode, new or old.

Well, she f***ed and fell in love with an American Terrorist, I think it's right in line with her being a terrible human being.

 

Also, does her baby have Down Syndrome? It kind of looked that way some times, and then not like it other times. Figured it would have been mentioned though if she did.

WB and DC are putting some effort in to those shows. Its good to see they arent staying in the Smallville mold of greenscreen and small sets, and are going for the movie-like experience

She's not just "complicated". She has a mental illness, and I think the show has done a good job displaying that. People with bi-polar disorder have massive mood swings, especially when they are not on medication or don't take the medication properly. People can be a danger to themselves and others, and she's no exception. She has tried to hurt herself, she has jeopardized missions, and she has come close to hurting others.

 

The lack of a connection with her baby is very understandable, and as you said, it is a real issue. But even women who do not already have a mental disorder can be llike this. Throw in bi-polar disorder, and that sort of issue can be much worse.

 

I don't think the show is trying to make people like her. She's not an easy person to like. Anyone who has had experience with people with mental disorders can tell you it's very difficult. The show does a good job displaying that.

The wife and I just started pulling them off On Demand a few weeks ago. Now up to the middle of season 2, and really enjoying it so far.

The actor who played Rev. Camden in 7th Heaven confessed to molesting several underage girls. Is there anyone we can trust in this world anymore?

He was an actor that portrayed a reverend, not a reverend. Don't overreact.

I adore this show. I envy their friendship more than almost anything else on that show. Haha. I always feel bad for Murr though. He's so clearly the outcast of the group.
