Well if they care more about the market, there's UTEP in western Texas, New Mexico, and maybe UNLV/Nevada they could go after.

Also remember that if you invite BYU to join for all sports, you are committing to having schedules in every sport that do not have games against BYU, or potential games against BYU (conference tournaments) on Sundays.

That blogger and Greg Henson are living off this search for clicks. I hate that's how the media is these days. Sam Webb is about the only one I would trust on this topic.

Baylor plays KState and TCU plays Iowa State. I wonder how much the final season game TCU plays will hurt them (this of course is making the assumption that both of those teams win). You also have to look at someone like OSU and whether they could leapfrog TCU with a big win.

Hopefully the Big 12 realizes they need to expand to 12. BYU should obviously be the top candidate. Not really sure after that. Central Florida is way out of the footprint but otherwise makes sense, and West Virginia is in there anyways. UCONN is way way out of the footprint. Cincinnati is quality but it's a city school in Ohio. Doesn't exactly match what they're going for. Still probably the best option after BYU.

Any new school would have to be worth something like 30 million a year. Expansion only happens if ESPN/FOX say it has to, or if they playoff makes it necessary. Since the Big 12 is the closest to having two teams in the playoffs, I think they aren't in any rush.

There's also a good chance they miss out completely due to not having a championship game.

You should know better than anyone that those games never make any sense. It's a true rivalry game where the relative quality of the two teams rarely seems to make a difference.

I think the sarcasm was fairly obvious there. That game is played in November and Iowa wins by two scores. As it was, ISU probably should have won by more that day.
