When the Sox trained with AZ, they seemed to make a lot of deals with them. Maybe the same will eventually happen with the Dodgers. For some reason, I think the Sox will wind up with a couple of these high priced Dodger veterans some day for a fraction of what they are paid.

I don't think he was expecting that bad of a throw. Garcia looked pretty close to him so he would have to react pretty quickly.

Stone's right - the D has been pretty bad this spring.

Some more awful defense by the Sox

What coaches have the most direct responsibility for defense? Are there official infield and/or outfield coaches? Or defensive coordinators at the major league level?

Abreu is a monster....end of the bat HR and he still hits the back of the bullpen

As soon he hit it, he knew it was gone, which is baffling to me considering he pretty much hit it off the very end of the bat. That's some crazy strength + wind to put that ball 15 feet passed the wall.

He is really the only option we have to play SS with Beckham and Kepp injured, unless you let Luery play 2B and let Semien fill in at SS?

 

And our defense continues to be awful. 4 errors through 4 innings and Nieto didn't come anywhere near catching a popup behind home plate.
