Lots of pitchers to watch today.

Now listing Cales instead of Jaye starting the 2nd B'Ham game.

Had a feeling they may do that, push everyone back a day and put a reliever in there.

Thompson single, hitting .375 --love it.

Kevan Smith, rbi double

Beck on the mound

Beck excellent so far.

6 ip, 3 h, 2 k, the rest zeros

Surkamp 3 ks in the first two innings

Edited by flavum

Complete game 7 ip performance for Beck.

Beckham 0-4, k

No runs allowed for Beck, but only 2 strikeouts in 7 innings. 5 strikeouts in 17 innings on the year.

Davidson has struggled with contact after a hot start.

There seems to be a huge lack of home runs being hit by the Sox minor leaguers. Not sure if this is Minor League wide with other organizations (weather, etc.).

Wow, Surkamp's outing went to hell quick.

Dykstra excellent

6 IP, 7 H 3 R, 1 BB, 9 SO, 7 GB/1 FB

Season:

17.2 IP, 4 BB, 19 SO, 28 GB/2 FB

Impressive definitely, but he is old for the level. Hopefully he can get pushed up soon.

What do we make of him, I know we drafted him in the 6th round last year and he is 23. Everything I've read in the past said his future is in the pen as a middle reliever and that he features a split finger.

Danish - 6 IP, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

Rondon - 2/5, 2B

Micah - 2/6, 2 BB, RBI, SB (only his 2nd), CS (also his 2nd)

Trey Michalczewski has an impressive walk rate going on.

I wonder if they were restricting his pitches in his first couple outings to try and develop some of his secondary pitches.

I don't know what to make of Beck. He's never really struck anyone out until that late season stint in AA. I can't get on the bandwagon yet.
