Lindstrom is still our best pitcher in the pen. Sadly. I suppose Webb is good.

Sox have no closer on this roster period!

You just can't let longoria beat you. He's their best hitter. Awful by Lindstrom.

1-0 fastball after walking the previous hitter is just begging for that.

Belisario was making his 4th appearance of the week. The other 3 were each over 1 inning.

Also this.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 10:40 PM)
He leaves in Petricka and Putnam for seemingly 1,000 pitches, but then he pulls Belisario after a quick 8th inning for a guy that has looked horrible all season.

Especially in a tie game that looked like it could be heading to extras. He didn't need to waste more pitchers. He should know that by now.

You deserve to get burnt walking Matt Joyce five times in front of Longoria. We're lucky the Rays have only scored 6.

For everyone blaming Ventura for having Lindstrom as the closer still, you were all the same ones who loved the move as a means of boosting his trade value. Who else in that hell-hole of a bullpen do you want in the closer role? You'd all hate Belisario the same way Dodger fans do once he gets his chance at it. Face it, there are no options; Putnam is our best reliever.

Actually, I'm pretty sure almost everyone on this board was pissed it wasn't Jones coming out of ST.

Oh hey, now I'll use some offspeed pitches and strike guys out...garbage like this is what makes guys like Lindstrom so annoying and frustrating.

He should only pitch when we are up by 2 or up by 2 not in the 9th inning.

Jones was injured during ST and obviously, coming out of ST

Just get this guy out already.

How about just not pitching in the 9th inning?

Well then you shouldn't be mad at Robin because Jones faced 5 guys, gave up 2 hits, walked 3 and allowed 4 runs. Looks like he was a bad choice.

I know ERA isn't that big of a deal for a reliever, but infinity is a problem.

Edited by Dick Allen

11 walks add to that team record for TB

There was a large contingent on this board who liked the move. I've hated Lindstrom since his Marlins days. He was a gas can then, just as he is now.

As much as I can't stand Robin, this pitching staff walks way too many batters. It's f***ing unreal what were doing.

IIRC, they thought Jones was healthy coming into the season, and still made that decision. If they knew he was hurt, then it makes no sense for him starting the season on the big league roster. Jones or not, Lindstrom has proven to be a horrible choice. Matt Davidson better turn it around.

Need 2 to tie...............thanks Matt

Hawk is so pissed off

A f***ing monkey throwing darts is more entertaining than this pitching staff

Surprised that there's no mention of Rick Hahn when it comes to criticism of this pitching staff.

Outside of Sale, Quintana and Webb, it's hard to project any pitchers on this roster being a contributor in 3 years. Maybe Petricka or E. Johnson, but they have a lot to prove.

Did Hawk just say that Greg Maddux and Tim Hudson "fed off each other when they played together in Atlanta?"

Because they didn't play together in Atlanta.

I just re-read the thread from opening day about him being named closer. Yes, most on there liked the move and thought it was smart.
