May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2014 -> 12:42 PM) So who's the back-up outfielder now? Sierra or Hernandez? Doubt they'll got to Tekotte again.
May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 3, 2014 -> 07:42 PM) There's a new lefty. Bruce Levine reports. Downs certainly hasn't been real good
May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2014 -> 07:42 PM) So who's the back-up outfielder now? I believe that it's Leury Garcia in case of injury......
May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (glangon @ May 3, 2014 -> 03:29 PM) I believe that it's Leury Garcia in case of injury...... I don't think Jordan Danks counts as a full player against the 25-man roster cap. Edited May 3, 201411 yr by Charlie Haeger's Knuckles
May 3, 201411 yr Meh, he won't be any better than what the Sox have trotted out there. Wasn't a big fan when the Sox claimed him last year.
May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ May 3, 2014 -> 03:37 PM) I don't think Jordan Danks counts as a full player against the 25-man roster cap. I think Sierra technically isn't on the roster yet.
May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ May 3, 2014 -> 03:02 PM) Meh, he won't be any better than what the Sox have trotted out there. Wasn't a big fan when the Sox claimed him last year. Didn't they have to work out a minor league trade with the Rays for him? Too many moves going on these days, hard to keep track of them all.
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) De Los Santos made something like $3000 for doing nothing today. He was sent down?
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) Didn't they have to work out a minor league trade with the Rays for him? Too many moves going on these days, hard to keep track of them all. All I can remember is that a lot of people thought he was the return on the Jesse Crain trade, but I know he wasn't. Was it cash considerations? I don't remember the Sox losing someone as a PTBNL.
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ May 3, 2014 -> 11:35 PM) All I can remember is that a lot of people thought he was the return on the Jesse Crain trade, but I know he wasn't. Was it cash considerations? I don't remember the Sox losing someone as a PTBNL. Sept. 21st, 2013 DETROIT -- The White Sox acquired left-handed reliever Frank De Los Santos through a trade with the Rays on Saturday for a player to be named or cash. De Los Santos will be a part of Chicago's 40-man roster, but he will not be added to the active Major League roster for the final week of the season. This move was unrelated to the trade that sent Jesse Crain to Tampa Bay in July. The 25-year-old Dominican went 1-2 with a 5.34 ERA over 26 appearances this season with Triple-A Durham, striking out 21 in 32 innings. He dominated left-handed hitters, holding them to a .167 batting average in 41 at-bats. De Los Santos, 6-foot and 165 pounds, didn't start playing baseball until he was 16 years old and was signed by the Rays as a free agent in 2007.
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ May 4, 2014 -> 06:34 AM) Whatever happened to our De Los Santos we traded for Swisher? PED suspension, among other things. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/delosfa01.shtml Edited May 4, 201411 yr by Stan Bahnsen
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 4, 2014 -> 06:56 AM) PED suspension, among other things. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/delosfa01.shtml http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...&pid=501745 Has him listed with the San Antonio Missions (AA-Texas League) but apparently hasn't pitched this season.
May 4, 201411 yr On the subject of ex-Sox pitchers, the Braves activated Gavin Floyd and will start him next Tuesday. Fast recovery.
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (glangon @ May 3, 2014 -> 03:29 PM) I believe that it's Leury Garcia in case of injury...... L Garcia should start a lot in OF. Danks is a 5th OF, and Garcia is supposed to be a super Sub. Getting him work in that regard.
May 4, 201411 yr And, on the subject of future ex-Sox pitchers, Tampa just DFA'd Heath Bell, who would fit right in to Rick Hahn's bullpen acquisitions.
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 4, 2014 -> 10:56 AM) L Garcia should start a lot in OF. Danks is a 5th OF, and Garcia is supposed to be a super Sub. Getting him work in that regard. I don't see how Leury should be played over Danks. He can't hit and can't play the outfield as well. Danks.
May 4, 201411 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) De Los Santos made something like $3000 for doing nothing today. And free frequent flyer miles!
