Spain has that precision passing game and the dominant midfield...just glad it's a better game than last time.

One of the ugliest matches in history, didn't help the sport at all.

My man RVP

Wow Van Persie, rainbow header. It's nice to see a great goal instead of a BS penalty shot goal.

another match, another s***ty ref

Robben with a great play, Spain seeming to have problems with over the top passes.

wow, what a shot by RVP. That would've been the nail.

meltdown city

Spain showing almost no ability to defend the ball in the air.

Van Persie with a really foolish challenge.

And I guess Spain is going to turn it up now.

hahahaha

holy s***

I think it is safe to say that Casillas is done and that we won't be seeing him again in this tourney. Holy s*** has he been awful.

It sounds crazy but i think you pull Van Persie as he already has 1 yellow.

(edit)

Casillas has looked terrible.

Their game against Chile is a must win now (assuming Chile beats Australia tonight). I can't see them advancing if they draw that game.

Poor Australia come the final match day.

Poor Australia today. I'm sure Chile still has their sights set on avoiding Brazil. With Holland's big win today, Chile already needs to start racking up the GD.

Even more shocking, Dutch could have another 1-2 goals in the last 10 minutes. Spain defense is just atrocious.

Van Gaal and van Persie. :headbang

No chance there's a better group than this. Nothing better than 4 terrible back lines. Offense offense offense.

Silva had a chance to make it 2-0 and it could have been the dagger...but chip didn't work.

Then the Van Persie goal brought the Orange to life. Amazing 2nd half for them, and SOME retribution for four years ago.

Don't know why they took out Alonso...Spain, without a healthy David Villa on the frontline and Fernando Torres six years out of his prime just isn't the same team. Casillas has no confidence when he used to be the best keeper in the world. You've got Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso...but Pique just got totally whipped by Robben and Ramos isn't the same player he was in 2010, either. You could just feel the collapse coming, and it did when Robin VP was given that 2nd gift goal.

Maybe the Spanish are simply just tired from all their elongated Liga play, UEFA champions cup...tournaments/scheduling over the last two years.

Excited about Colombia being back in the World Cup (used to live there, happy for that country) and also England/Italy on the controversial Manaus/Amazonia heat/flood beaten-field. Probably more bad publicity for the Brazilian government...if it wasn't bad enough they were chanting "f--k you" at their president in an election year in the 2nd half of their opener against Croatia.

Fifa going to fifa.

I don't know how you can look at that and not see a penalty. The defender is sliding out of control and the ball is well away so he's not playing the ball at all. Then there's obvious contact with the trailing leg that absolutely causes him to lose his balance and fall. Yes he stepped on his leg, but the defender shouldn't have been there and it's awfully tough to say he stepped on his leg intentionally. It's not Diego Costa's responsibility to get out of the way of the defender.
