Hr derby tonight. I'm going with Cespedes to put on a show

What a boring first round....Guess that should have been expected at that ball park.

I only have it on in the background but wow has this been just awful.

Just turned it on. I think if MLB were to make things interesting, they need to get away from the players pick and do what they need to to ensure the games stars / best power hitters are in it. Or do something cool like last out, you get to use an aluminum bat or something.

Homerun derby has always been rather boring to me.

Worst home run derby ever.

I still like watching Cespedes swing

This has been rather awful though.

Well that format won't be returning next year.

HR derby in general is boring now. Try something else at this point. Put targets out there, or different parts of the field with different point values. Or make guys hit this target/part of field on this pitch, etc. I'm sure you could come up with something interesting besides just all home runs.

This was the only exciting thing that happened last night.

I was surprised to see Jose Abreu acting brash and goofy at the Derby. Thought he was a quiet guy, glad to see he can have some fun as well.

Idk if it's just me, but seeing this yesterday it was mostly with Cespedes. I think these guys are pretty good friends since Cuba, but it seems like both of them are pretty cold to Puig. Even after Cespedes won, Puig went to congratulate him and gave him a kinda mandatory slight hug. Anyway it's great to see those guys having fun in an event that is made just for that, fun for them and more importantly the fans. (even though yesterday's was pretty damn boring)

I took the tv off mute for the replay/rest of Stanton's AB when that happened. Stopped watching shortly afterwards though. Psyched for someone to throw BP to Jetes so he can launch one like the prolific hr hitter he is. Wonder who that duty will fall to.

And his sentimental moment will rob a White Sox of their rightful MVP like in 2013 and 2001.
