As they currently sit nine games back in the AL Central race, the White Sox are gauging the market to see which of their veterans could bring the best return. The two drawing the most interest at this point are left-hander John Danks and outfielder Dayan Viciedo, according to a baseball source. Danks has reportedly caught the Yankees' eye and would make sense for the Cardinals or Blue Jays, though his current contract status (being owed almost $35 million through 2016) does lower his value. Viciedo has struggled this season, hitting .236/.287/.400, but reportedly drawing interest from teams looking for a right-handed power bat like the Giants and Mariners. If the White Sox dig deeper on their roster for movable assets, veterans like shortstop Alexei Ramirez and designated hitter Adam Dunn could draw some interest from teams looking for offense. July 24, 201411 yr Trading Lindstrom? When is he going to be able to pitch for the first time? August? September? I guess someone might take a flier, like with the Crain situation, and hope for the best...but it's going to be a salary dump. Wonder why DeAza wasn't mentioned? He's playing arguably the best of all of our trade bait, other than Putnam and Petricka, if they're going to be included on the list.

July 24, 201411 yr Guerra has a mere 23.2 IP this season Lindstrom hasn't pitched since May 19 Putnam is trying to establish himself as a closer Danks and Viciedo as trade candidates has already been speculated by, well, everyone already. So basically Cotillo is regurgitating what others have said while throwing out names that make little to no sense at all. So he wrote the blurb for the sake of writing something. Absolutely pointless blurb thats not worthy of being called an article. His writing, or lack thereof is better suited for gossip mags.
