Abreu ended up being ok from the looks of it. No limp or anything.

little chuckle after he found 3B as well. Seems fine.

Is this Q's 2nd to last tuneup? Maybe he goes 6. We really don't need 7 weeks of spring. I'd be fine starting the season on March 31st. Alexei doing his thing. Bails on a bad hop but with that hand eye not even a problem.

Jesus Alexei stop it man. Does he age? Surely he's lost a step from 27 but man his reflexes seem as good as ever.

The lack of power from the likely starting 9 has been shocking so far this ST.

I really wouldn't read into that. At all.

At least for the two games I've attended, Alexei has looked like he's in Gold Glove form

Q running into some trouble here not really pitching that badly but the Padres are doing a good job fighting off tough pitches.

Q having his 5th inning issues today.

The no run support curse for Q is so real.

Avi has a really s***ty arm.

Really have to hope his defense is better this year. I was watching videos from all the games in April prior to his injury, as his horrible defense might have cost the Sox 3 different games they ended up losing.

His speed should be fine at least. He looks much faster from losing the weight. The real question will be how hesitant he is with balls close to fence or within diving range cause of his shoulder.

Physically he's pretty athletic IMO for a guy that big. His problem is mostly what you mentioned -- he doesn't get good reads and he tends to sorta get caught in between diving and pulling up on balls hit to his left. If he just makes most the routine plays and holds most guys to doubles on balls into the corner I'll be happy.

Jose hasn't looked very good this spring. Thank god it means jack.

Assuming you mean Quintana, not Abreu.

Huh, few times I've seen him he's done jack. Guess he only performs when the pressure is off with no TV.

good viewing now Montas in and Hawkins as well.

Man, Ramon Castro would look pretty good on this roster. Non of the backup catchers can throw for s*** and Flowers aint not great shakes himself.

It's really just a combination of crappy catchers with major deficiencies, it seems

At this point I think it's fairly safe to say that the cumulative WAR from 2B might be greater than C.

Nice job MLB.tv

Good news is this spring has hopefully shown Montas he can't just throw 100 mph at this level without good command and be successful.
