Cubs have hit a lot of HR's against the Sox this spring.

Cubs have hit a lot of homers against everyone

Tyler Flowers, ladies and gentlemen.

It's a disappointment they brought him back. He was so bad for so long last year. He doesn't seem like the type of catcher that will help a team compete.

Shuck is so good. Wow.

Flowers with the BOMB!!! That thing was crushed.

The hate from the posters fuels him

I hate the Cubs announcers so much.

Gordon popped up to 2nd? That never happens.

Nothing new for me. I fueled Pods with all the power he needed in the 2005 World Series

Man, I've found my cynical groove long before the season even started.

I swear to God these dudes in the lawn seats at Sloan Park are having a "the ball was way too high" conversation after the Flowers HR.

No. They pull a few guys from minor league camp for every game to get them a few AB's in a real game, but they are still in minor league camp. For example you may still see Hawkins play in an ST game.

If you look at the stats, there are a dozen or more prospects and minor leaguers who have played in a game so far, that were never in big camp.

Ah

7 homers allowed now by Samardzija. There's definitely a part of me that's fine waiting to re-sign him until he proves he can be a top pitcher in the AL.

3 hr's not good.

I'm trying really hard not to care about the ridiculous amount of homers given up by Shark

edit: nevermind, now i'm very worried

4 now even worse...........................makes me feel like Danks was pitching today.

What the hell is wrong with Samardzija today?

Any velocity reports?

poor command on a fastball with little movement. Also not throwing it by anyone. He looks terrible

Any velocity reports?

No radar gun on the broadcast, but I'd guess 91-93 based on hitters

Scout on Jeff Samardzija: "Stuff looks good actually. Heavy sinker, good cutter. Just left the ball right down middle in all three HR's."

Well, we'll know how much concern there should be about him if he goes into KC on Opening Day and gives up 3 homers to that lineup. This Cubs team is going to be near the top of the NL in homers for a long time.

It's arizona. Balls tend to fly far in Arizona
