So i missed the first 5 outs of the game. How did Sale look to start? Looks like he's changing speeds on his fastball?

You could say that. lol

1st pitch in the 2nd inning was 90 MPH. He has thrown at least 3 at 97 MPH.

He hit 96-97 several times in the first and he's also throwing something at around 90-92 that I honestly am not sure what to call it.

future cy young :D that's what i call it

Holy hell that strikeout pitch unfair.

Jose has looked 10x better on defense

2 of the 3 twins hitters this inning have backed up and raised their hands in the "I don't want to get hit by this" reaction on the first pitch they saw and had the ball go right down the middle of the plate.

these guys have no chance

lolowned

Now he hit 98.

Sale is like a magician out there. Not sure I have seen a pitcher throw his fastball all over the place (90-98). That is just unfair to hitters

Kurt Suzuki had a nice AB trying to raise his lifetime average against the Sox to .875, but Sale eventually got hime.

Everyone needs to take a lesson from Victor Martinez on how to hit C.Sale.

Maurer's hit... was it lucky?

Just saw that Bartolo Colon got his first RBI in 10 years....looks like hitters are coming out of slumps all over the place.

can someone who has a more experience than high school baseball explain, realistically, how a hitter is supposed to adjust when seeing a 90 MPH fastball followed up by a 97 MPH fastball? that just seems like a tall order. especially if the pitch looks exactly the same leaving his hand.

Nope, good hitting.

Apparently Sales new deal this year will be a new windup each game

Just a routine grounder up the middle. Not lucky, exactly, but not hit very hard.
