April 27, 201510 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20150427 Just Charlotte and Birmingham tonight. Beck and Jaye. Edited April 27, 201510 yr by flavum
April 27, 201510 yr Looked at some milb stats, and it appears Anderson and K. Walker are tied for 4th in steals (Engel's right behind them). Also, any word on Montas?
April 27, 201510 yr oh i can't wait for Adams and Fry to start where they left off last yr. this yr results are nothing but a minor blip.
April 27, 201510 yr Seth Lakso @SethLakso · 53m 53 minutes ago Engel Beltre was in Knights original lineup, but was removed 10 min ago. No word as to why.
April 27, 201510 yr Beck's sure not missing a lot of bats this year. Disappointing after his excellent performance in ST that we all saw on tv. Maybe he can make the transition to a set-up man?
April 27, 201510 yr Why does it seem we always tend to have the streakiest of streaky hitters in our minor league system? Too many "all or nothing" players and not enough Ravelos who are more consistent and patient hitters with a higher OBP/contact rate.
April 27, 201510 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 11:47 PM) Why does it seem we always tend to have the streakiest of streaky hitters in our minor league system? Usually what happens when you go after super toolsy guys that need a lot of refining (Thompson, Anderson, Hawkins). High ceiling, very low floors for all 3 of them when they were drafted.

High ceiling, very low floors for all 3 of them when they were drafted. am i wrong in thinking, that Mitchell should be in that group???
April 28, 201510 yr Author Jaye thru 7. 95 pitches Winiarski will be pitching the 8th. Weak. He gave up a hit. Edited April 28, 201510 yr by flavum
April 28, 201510 yr Jaye has been pretty fantastic so far in AA. Beck ended up with 7 Ks, just gave up some runs tonight.
April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:47 PM) am i wrong in thinking, that Mitchell should be in that group??? Yes, but nobody really cares about him or Walker at this point...so not worth mentioning, that point's been driven into the ground by now.

April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) Beck's sure not missing a lot of bats this year. Disappointing after his excellent performance in ST that we all saw on tv. Maybe he can make the transition to a set-up man? Beck wasn't missing bats last year. It kept being attributed to him working on something. Edited April 28, 201510 yr by DirtySox
April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:40 PM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20150427 Just Charlotte and Birmingham tonight. Beck and Jaye. Myles Jaye looking good. He needs a big year.
April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 07:47 PM) am i wrong in thinking, that Mitchell should be in that group??? Mitchell already fell through the floor.
April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) And we decided to get rid of him In fairness, his inability to play any position other than 1B was going to require the development of significantly more power. But yeah, it seems like the org undervalues the rare guy who actually shows a quality approach.
April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) In fairness, his inability to play any position other than 1B was going to require the development of significantly more power. But yeah, it seems like the org undervalues the rare guy who actually shows a quality approach. That's why we have the DH.
April 28, 201510 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:47 PM) Why does it seem we always tend to have the streakiest of streaky hitters in our minor league system? Too many "all or nothing" players and not enough Ravelos who are more consistent and patient hitters with a higher OBP/contact rate. Take a look at the Dash - they actually have a bunch of guys with much lower K rates than previously (guys like Engel, Barnum, Walker are lower), plus guys like Peter and Narvaez that are high contact guys anyway. Not sure if one of their coaches hit on something or what, but it's apparent with that team. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:49 PM) Usually what happens when you go after super toolsy guys that need a lot of refining (Thompson, Anderson, Hawkins). High ceiling, very low floors for all 3 of them when they were drafted. Sure, and I'd rather they did that a lot anyway. Better chance of significant players down the line. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) Jaye has been pretty fantastic so far in AA. Beck ended up with 7 Ks, just gave up some runs tonight. Revamped slider this year. Already had a very good sinking fastball and OK curve. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) 2-out triple for Thompson in the 10th, Coats drove him in to win it. Coats doing just fine in AAA.
