i hope it is not family illness or something like that.

I read the term "minor injury" on the Barons site article about his last game. Hopefully he's back to regular pitch count soon.

Rondon 2014 as a RHH: .303/.352/.576 LHH: .220/.297/.242

2015 as a RHH: .389/.389/.667 LHH: .170/.290/.170

That doesn't include tonight's homer which came as a RHH.

Time to ditch switch-hitting?

One would think. Can't be any worse against right handers batting from the right side, could he?

If all he had was those RHH numbers, he'd be a top 10 prospect.

a very good point, and as Feeky Magee said, ditch the LHH.

I wondered the same thing last year, until someone pointed out that he had just begun switch hitting. Given that he just turned 21, they probably want to give

the experiment more time. Perhaps he could ultimately bat left handed in select situations, rather than against all RH pitchers.

I really like this guy, and suspect that he may become the everyday SS, one day. Scouting reports rave about his defense.

i respect and like what you are saying. but here is a rhetorical question, at what point do the powers to be say this experiment of switch hitting is not working???

with that, he needs rep's at defense and yes at hitting.

If the splits were the reverse, I'd say he ought to stick with it. But you don't see many righties who struggle as much against RHP as he is batting left-handed.
