I didnt see the errors Hawk is talking about "giving 'em two of the three runs." But I do know bad defense will prevent this team from beating the Royals head to head and probably keep the team under .500 overall.

We shall see. The bats probably will heat up dramatically in the summer.

Tomorrow be a good day to rest Alexei. Rodon either strikes out or walks everyone anyways.

Some of my favorite memories of pitching.

I taught my brother a slider when he was 13. You would of thought it was David Cone up there with the reactions. Throw it inside, watch the kid bail, get your k.

How many pop ups to first can a guy hit Alexi? Sit him Wednesday.

The Sox don't have much punch on the bench. Beckham has been a pleasant surprise.

Funny you mention that, as I modeled my slider after that of Cone. If you threw sidearm to a righty, they would end up out of the batters box.

The funny thing was he threw 3/4's naturally and had plus plus velocity. I threw more over the top and was trying to learn that pitch as a way to wipe out righties. I could throw a great 12/6 curve. I couldnt throw the slider to save my life. He was playing catch with me in the back yard asked me what I was trying to throw. He asked how it was thrown. I showed him the grip and gave him a pretty generic tutorial on the slider, he immediately threw a first pitch slider that was better than anything I saw. I hated him for it. His slider was sick. My son now is 10 and i have learned from most of my mistakes. Throws from a more natural arm slot, and the first pitch he learned was a two seam fastball. Everything he throws moves. When he gets older he will thank me.

Wow, that was one of the worst misreads you can imagine (on the routine pop up off the bat of Kipnis) from Avi Garcia in the first inning.

Set the tone early. (And the perfect example of a play that shows up as a triple in the box score and ER for Quintana but is more accurately reflected in DRS/UZR/dWAR, etc.)

He giveth, and he taketh away...at least tonight.

We gave Cleveland extra chances (at least one missed DP ball gave Brantley an opportunity with RISP) and gave them outs by sacrificing to get the slowest runner on the team into scoring position.

Too early to play for the tie at home instead of the big inning there. I'm sure Robin was thinking we weren't going to score multiple runs there against Bauer, but it's at best an arguable managerial move.
