Cy LaRoche pitches 1-2-3 inning

Featured Replies

LaRoche K's Ryan

He actually wasn't too bad. Best Sox position player pitching appearance in recent history. Certainly better than Dunn and L. Garcia. Hit 85, threw in a 62 MPH hook.

Casper wells pitched p well too, I think.

Forgot about that. He pitched a scoreless inning for us, but his career ERA is 27.

I think LaRoche's fastest pitch was 85 MPH and his slowest was 50.

He's good at changing speeds at least lol.

Adam LaRoche the LOOGY anyone?

We saw last week, when he was on the bench, he looked distraught. Maybe this helps him clear his head and get back to having fun playing a game and not trying to hard. Since we made no addition, him rising towards his career averages would be like acquiring the bat we wanted. Melky did it now we need him to do so.

That inning made watching most of the rest of the game worth while. Dat Curve Doh.

That guy he struck out was pissed.

True, but that guy also was smiling during the at bat a lot. He looked flustered that the fastball got him for strike three.

That guy smiling was the last out of Phil Humber's perfect game and a lot of people said that they thought he struck out then on purpose which of course was ridiculous. I saw somewhere maybe it was in the game thread that someone commented that Ryan struck out against LaRoche on purpose. Absurd.

I was at the game, that inning was the ONLY thing that made the night not a total waste. I still think the Sox owe me back my money for that completely terrible performance. They at least owe me back the f-ing premium you pay because they were playing the Yankmees.

If you think about it, the Yankees looked like a premium team so you got to see what you paid for...........................

Well, I don't pay to go to games based on the opponents the Sox are paying. I am just as happy watching them pummel the Indians as I would be if it were the Yankees.

I still say you had a beautiful night, a ballpark, fireworks, and there was beer. I saw Rodon get toasted in Pittsburgh and it was still a great night.

Can anybody find the cumulative ERA of position players pitching? I swear it seems like they usually have shutout innings. David Ross had one last week too .

I wouldn't say "usually". Leury Garcia and Adam Dunn have a cumulative ERA of 18, for example.

Yeah, it was a nice night, but would have been better without the 100% premium.

I guess I just have selective memory, I remember Dunn being Sale-esque. :D
