being hispanic... i should be happy,

but there is a huge undercurrent of mexican mafia and the drug cartell there.

or am i being overly paranoid.

As long as they're okay with never attracting an american free agent

Yeah, I don't think this will work unless there is massive investment in security measures. Even then, it's probably a long shot.

you have a great point.

i am incline to think of kidnapping of americans like the kidnapping of the late 80's and 90's... i just don't trust the idea.

again i am ashame that i am thinking like this.

I can't see a Mexican team being able to pull in enough dollars to compete.

Montreal before Mexico IMO. Maybe an NFL team goes south first since they are obsessed with globalizing the sport, makes more sense than London.

29 million people more or less in Mexico City.

Otoh, A Man Apart, drug cartels, kidnappings, visa issues, border crossings, tax complications, difficulties of recruiting non Hispanic free agents.

I agree. A friend of mine does a lot of business in Mexico City. In fact, he lived there for several years. It would be a security nightmare. All the people he deals with have money and several bodyguards. Several years ago, they threw out a Mexican city as a possible new home for the Expos. He told me it would never work. I believe him.

No problemo, the team can easily field a title winning team with just Mexicans, Cubans, Venezuelans and Dominicans...

Americans not needed, this ain't the NFL

More likely a team would move to a big market city in Canada before going to Mexico.

Key and Peele: "All baseball players are from the Dominican Republic".
