Tony Phillips Dead

Sorry to hear that. He was crazy as hell but I liked him while on the Sox.

He was playing in an Independent league into his 50s. He got into a brawl a few years ago. I wonder if he was ever able to conquer his addiction to the crack rock.

RIP Tony!

Wasn't it Phillips that went into the stands after being ejected and beat up a fan because the fan was calling Phillips racial slurs? I want to say it was in Milwaukee sometime in the early-mid 90's?

Yep

Sad to hear of this

I remember when he got busted with a crack pipe in his hand while in a hotel room across the street from the big A playing for Anaheim. It's a sad thing.

It took me a second to remember who he was. He was crazy

People forget how good of a player he was. Would be very valuable in this era than he was when he played. Pretty much the 90's Ben Zobrist.
