Sox were high on Aiken as well (not near as high on Kolek though). Agree they were also interested in Nola but I think they liked Aiken more and presumed the top 2 were going to go Aiken / Rodon and than they'd have grabbed Nolan (based upon reports, who knows what is true though).

I think you're right. As we got closer to the draft, it became more clear that Aiken was the consensus #1 pick around the league.

That's who I believe they would have taken.

They knew Aiken was going #1. They had no idea what Miami was doing at #2. If they took Rodon, Sox would've gone Nola.

No one knew for sure (it became a bit clearer but Houston hasn't always done what people think they will). But I think it was Cooper who publicly had some nice comments about Aiken.

I am just pointing out that we thought highly of Aiken. We might not have gotten him but no one knew for sure. Houston for a long time leading up was considered a Kolek lean. No one knows exactly what is going to happen until it happens. All I'm saying is Aiken was supposedly higher on there list than Nola (so we too could have had a tommy john person if it was Aiken who was on the board instead).
