Vice puts this into a little bit different perspective. The IB publication left out this line.

Yeah I dont really think he is a fascist, but this is the type of thing that emboldens people to say "no." Especially as right now people just read headlines.

I don't imagine things would have gone well if one of Obama's nominees had founded a "Communism Rules" club in college, no matter how obvious a joke it was.

Ha, yes true. Wasn't a nominee taken down because they quoted Mao once?

What is the far left and how are they different than "a liberal" or just your average democrat?

Im guessing we are talking about things like govt paid for college, universal health care, etc. Those are things that Democrats may support, but are not necessarily deal breakers.

I'm really not sure who the far left is from reading this thread. Something about Shaun Hill and them not supporting Hillary? If far left is a new term, I just want to be able to define it.

I actually dont really know. I just categorize them as people who refused to vote for Clinton because they didnt think she was "liberal" enough. I dont know if there is actually any sort of real policy behind them.

Some other people here may be able to answer better.

Actual leftists are at least as far to the left as Bernie Sanders and more often than not even more so. Outright communists, left anarchists, social Democrats like Sanders who support mixed economies, and Democratic socialists who support liberal democracies but not a mixed capitalistic economy (someone like Noam Chomsky might qualify here?)

When I talk about far left, I'm talking about the Bernie Bros and the Jill Stein supporters - the ones who thought Hillary was evil and created the false equivalency paradigm regarding her and Trump.

Sky actually isnt blue, that is just the way humans perceive it due to blue light waves being shorter

:D

*sigh*

And in my circles, middle of the country, middle to upper class, they are appalled.

But none of this really matters, if Trump cant deliver jobs to those places he promised, hell be gone. Many people dont care about the SC, they dont care about travel bans/whatever you want to call them. They care about Trump's promise that he was going to turn back time and make America a manufacturing super power with jobs for all. If that doesnt happen, he will have to answer to them. Just like he had to answer to the creditors when he didnt pay the bills on the Taj Mahal. Saying how great something is only works until the bill comes in the mail.

My circles do not involve many in 100K plus arena. The few I know (20 or so) are not off guard.

Many do care about the SC. It was the first thing I and many in my circle look at in politics.

I agree he needs to keep the jobs we have and bring more back. He's doing just that since election day. He needs to keep it up.

brett were you really proud when Tom Cotton obstructed Cassandra Butts from getting her nominated position of ambassador to the Carribean to honor her as she battled leukemia, and Cotton put a hold on the nomination once he learned that Butts was friends with Obama and it would inflict personal pain on him? Butts died and was never appointed.

Or did they not go far enough there?

This has to be the worst troll ever. Get back to obstructing everything our President does.

I think my favorite thing about Brett as a poster is that he keeps calling SS2K a liberal.

Provide one post where I said that, else I would suggest you change your handle.

The wealth divide is about to grow by even more. The old mill isnt reopening, but hey, financial regulations are being eviscerated. I wonder if that helps the middle and lower class? When they lose their new homes in 3 years, I bet they will be super happy.

Way to ignore all of the times they didn't.

You are literally posting in a thread that is here because the GOP engaged in the longest single obstruction of a Supreme Court candidate in the entire 241 year history of the United States of America.

You can't be anymore dishonest to say otherwise.

You are clueless. Conservative but clueless. It's not why I post here.

The only thing that is clueless is trying to rationalize that the GOP didn't try to obstruct Obama. Don't that person who tries to justify everything that your party does. Don't be a drone. Use your mind and see past the marching orders.

Are there any intellectually honest liberals? Any?

Not that I think Hillary is equal to Trump but I question her decision making when she had Kaine as her VP. He's voted yes on all of Trump's cabinet picks so far. Spineless.
