It's why I never wanted Buehrle to leave the organization. He worked fast and other pitchers copied him.

What works for Buehrle doesn't necessarily work for Quintana. Quintana is a bit more measured and careful than most pitchers. Buehrle, for how good his control (esp the cutter) was, he was a bit reckless trying to get hitters to create outs. Quintana nibbles and bites and takes his time, I dont think he'd benefit from speeding things up--though I'm sure us fans would.

I can't argue with the results cause Jose's one of the most effective pitchers in baseball given his stuff, but damn it makes the game nearly unbearable to watch.

He did do it last year, but it was far more noticeable today due to the 10-15 seconds it would take for him to even get his sign
