I wonder if we see Ishikawa called up for E. Johnson after this game. Really need a back-up 1B and a lefty bat on the bench.

Ishikawa 2015 had a 105 wRC+ at AAA. 2016 it's 107. Jerry Sands 2015 was 176. I'm not sure relying on Ishikawa to do anything is a sound bet.

No excuse for Avi to ever be facing a side-arming RHP in the 8th inning of a game. The construction of the Sox bench better be fixed after today's game.

And this year Weaver is 3 MPH slower and the Sox have 5 different guys in the starting lineup than they did in that game last year. His history against the Sox means little to nothing at this point.

 

But if we want to play that game, Danks has a 3.12 career ERA with a 1.177 WHIP against the Angels in his career and a 3.14 ERA and a .977 WHIP against them last year. Funny how I don't see you mentioning that. Oh yea, doesn't fit the agenda.

It at least gives you a player who can possible scoop at throw at 1B.
