They'd have to clear a lot of cap space to make more moves.

IIRC they have about $3M in cap space for the deadline

Kings trade for Ben Bishop.

Wild trade for Martin Hanzal, that could make things a little tougher for the Hawks

Wild give up a 1st, 2nd, and a conditional that could become a 2nd for Hanzal. That's a lot, they are going all in.

Wow. It gets more and more expensive to deal at the deadline.

Yeah, the Hawks are starting to look really good.

Toews has been magnificent. His line in general have been outstanding.

And the Wild need to go all in this year. They are probably gonna lose a good player in the expansion draft next season and they owe some of their younger guys big raises.

The Toews and Kane show continues as each have a goal against the Blues in the 1st. Toews also assisted on the Kane PP goal.

If the 1st line keeps clicking, I love the thought of Kruger and Hossa on the 3rd line, that's the depth you need to win a Cup.

If Toews is really "back", this is a totally different team.

It's a legit Stanley Cup contender without a doubt

Another great all around game for the Hawks. Those top two lines are just killing it right now.

24 points in 13 games I believe.

Minnesota has a decent amount of games in hand but 3 games in the next 4 days. Nice travel schedule.

Yeah, I would have been furious if the Hawks did something like that. Brutal deal.

It is probably too much to ask the Hawks for the top seed right now, but that is OK. If this team is playing like this come playoff time, it won't really matter.

Looks like Shattenkirk is heading to the Caps.

Good news for the West

That Pens Caps second round series should be something

Blues just got weaker and the East got stronger. Win-win.

Oh and our "favorite" non Hawks player Alex Burrows to Ottawa. (And he resigned there for 2 years aftrr trade)

It makes sense to me. Shattenkirk is an upcoming UFA, Blues weren't going to sign him and aren't legit Cup contenders, so might as well get something for him. Caps are all-in to finally win a Cup and they get likely the best player available.

With what Washington gave up to get him, I don't blame STL at all.

Just yesterday I was thinking we were perfectly fine without oduya....

Jay Zawaski keeps tweeting about a guy in the KHL named Shalunov that apparently wants to be on the hawks

The #Blackhawks acquire D-man Johnny Oduya in exchange for Mark McNeill and a 2018 draft pick: http://onego.al/49rw309sqDR

That's not at much at all. When Oduya is your 5th D man, that's nice depth.
